Job Summary

Recreation Services at CU Boulder encourages applications for multiple Custodian I positions! The Custodial Team is essential for ensuring the Recreation Center is maintained to the highest standard of cleanliness, functionality, and customer service. The Custodial Team works throughout the Recreation Centers facilities to provide expert deep cleaning and to assist our centers with providing the highest quality of service to our patrons. As a member of the custodial team, you will ensure the Rec Center spaces remain in pristine condition, reflecting the high standards of our institution. Additionally, this position will perform minor spot maintenance repairs.

CU Boulder Recreation Services is a welcoming, valued, campus resource that promotes healthy lifestyles through high-quality, accessible, facilities and experiences. This student-fee-funded unit features a student-led CUSG Recreation Board and a diverse team of professional experts to help meet evolving recreational needs and support student engagement and success. Recreation Services oversees the LEED Platinum main campus Student Rec Center, a building with over 300,000 square feet of recreation and fitness activity space, as well as a satellite recreation center at Williams Village, outdoor basketball courts, a challenge ropes course, and eight turf and grass fields around campus. Throughout these facilities, members of the CU community can engage with a variety of programs that include ice skating, indoor rock climbing, intramural and club sports, yoga, aquatics and so much more.

What Your Key Responsibilities Will Be

Clean & Disinfect Areas in the Facility
  • Cleaning and disinfecting all fixtures, floors, mirrors, windows, doors, and walls including those in center, bathrooms, locker rooms, weight rooms.
  • Cleaning and maintaining all areas when facility is at max usage.
Maintenance
  • Perform minor spot maintenance repairs such as repairing furniture/fixture, replace burned out light bulbs, unstopping toilets and sinks, and other duties as needed.
Stocking & Inventory
  • This consists of cleaning, stocking and inventory of custodial closets.
  • Restock soap, toilet paper, paper towel and all supplies.
  • Report broken fixtures or equipment to supervisor.
Risk Management
  • Observe all common safety practices associated with equipment operations, ensuring patron safety around cleaning areas, and communicate safety needs to Rec Center staff.
Snow Removal
  • When needed remove snow and ice from around the Recreation Center.


What You Should Know

These positions will either work Tuesday through Saturday, or Sunday through Thursday, 12:00PM to 8:30PM.These hours may be adjusted at times because of special events.

What We Require

  • Six months experience related to the job assignment. Experience could be in custodial work, building maintenance, or similar.


What You Will Need

  • Ability to complete assigned tasks independently.
  • Ability to lift, move and operate cleaning tools and equipment.
