Job Description:


The Coordinator of Transfer Affairs and Articulation is primarily responsible for developing and maintaining transfer related activities at Massasoit Community College.

Responsibilities and Duties:
  • Coordinates transfer and articulation services and acts as a catalyst for operational and procedural development and change in the transfer area. Directs transfer and articulation activities to include: developing transfer policies and procedures, facilitating faculty and department meetings between colleges, reviewing curriculum for transfer-related issues and provide guidance for course and programmatic changes to align with transfer initiatives where needed.
  • Provides transfer advising, academic advising and career exploration for students by making use of academic planning tools.
  • Provides content direction for transfer services website. Promotes transfer website as an advising tool. Works with College Communications to publish information regarding updated on all transfer related initiatives on the college website.
  • Initiates, designs, implements and maintains all program-to-program articulation agreements. Directs articulation activities to include; developing transfer policies/procedures, facilitating faculty and department meetings between colleges/universities, reviewing curriculum, negotiating problem areas and developing workable solutions.
  • Manages and implements the majority of policy and communication of MassTransfer. Works with program Deans, Faculty and Enrollment Management to implement, revise and promote MassTransfer initiatives including Pathways projects, Commonwealth Commitment advising and course alignment with state partners.
  • Provides leadership representation on statewide and regional transfer standing committees. Serves on colleges transfer committees and taskforces.
  • Maintains professional knowledge in applicable areas (i.e. - maintains a working knowledge of transfer issues, trends, and advances in advising profession, career vocational information as well as connection to area referral agencies).
  • Participates in academic advising for registration for New Student Orientation.
  • Participates in academic advising for registration during extended registration period.
  • Performs other related duties.



Requirements:


  • Master's degree in Education, Counseling, Psychology, or closely related field; with seven (7) years' experience and/or training that includes academic advisement, career counseling, students assessment, crisis intervention, project management and personal computer operations; or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience working with diverse or non-traditional students.
  • Experience working in an educational setting.
  • Computer experience/knowledge of online data base systems; Banner, Degree works, EAB Navigate.
  • Strong interpersonal, organizational skills.
  • Fluent in Cape Verdean Creole or Haitian Creole.

Hours: 37.5 hours a week, some evenings are required. This position may be eligible for telework in accordance with the College's telework policy.

Salary: $63,607 - $69,615 annually, Grade 6. Salary is commensurate with education, experience and based on the MCCC Classification Study.

Worksite: Assignments will include all Massasoit sites.
