Position Definition:
Technical Expert to support with meal preparation using simple recipes
for up to 75 children in a childcare setting, serving breakfast, lunch and
PM snack.

Distinguishing Characteristics:

Examples of Duties/Essential Functions:
- Meal Preparation & Nutrition: Plan, prepare, and serve nutritious meals
and snacks according to USDA/CACFP guidelines.- Accommodate food allergies, special diets, and medical needs safely.
- Follow standardized recipes and approved menus. Maintain appropriate
portion sizes for young children.- Food Safety & Sanitation: Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary
kitchen environment. Follow food safety, handling, and storage regulations.
- Monitor food temperatures and proper storage procedures.
- Complete daily cleaning, sanitizing, and safety checklist. Inventory &
- Recordkeeping: Order, receive, and store food and supplies. Monitor
inventory and minimize food waste.
- Maintain meal count records, menus, and required documentation.
- Collaboration & Program Support: Communicate with teaching staff about
meal schedules and special dietary needs. Support nutrition education
by modeling healthy eating habits. Follow center policies, licensing
regulations, and health department standards

Minimum Qualifications:
Education/Experience:
Knowledge of current policies and regulations related to the federal food
program and the CACFP.

Basic understanding of procedures for support services offered by assigned
program.
