Reporting directly to theUniversity Registrar, theAssociate Registrarworks with the faculty and administration regarding records, registration andenrollmentissues and is directly responsible for the supervision and managementof administrativeandservicefunctions of the Office of theRegistrar ,while ensuring ahigh qualitystudent service environment.Thispositionwill also oversee the Veteran and Military Student Services (VMSS)registrarstaffand operations.

Thisrole willprovide leadership and strategic direction to the Office of the Registrar.The AssociateRegistrardirectly supervisesfour AssistantRegistrars and oversees a staffof fouradditionalprofessionals, as well as the student workers for the Office of the Registrar.This position will serve on the Enrollment Operations leadershipteam, andwillregularly workwith Financial Aid and Lynx Centralleadershipto ensure we have consistent quality levels of services in those areas.

Associate Registrar

What you will do:
  • Serve as a collaborative leader within units thatcompriseEnrollment Management and the Registrar's Office.

  • Oversee the development of strategies, supportstructuresand processes to effectively administer Registrar's Officeservices.

  • Supervise and administer academic policy, registration, grading policies and grade collection, transcript production and fulfillment, residency determination, ,,continuing and professionaleducationalprogramsand records,degree certification and posting, and licensure certifications for current and graduating students and alumni.

  • Directly supervise4Assistant Registrars,4Registrar Specialists, and all student workers for the Office of the Registrar. Develop and gather metrics to ensure that daily operations are moving forward successfully.

  • Act as lead on Graduate StudiesOfficeforms, workflows, and processes.

  • Develop,maintain, and publish the Academic Calendar in all formats.

  • Work with the University Registrarand other Associate Registrarsto create and implement strategies, policies and procedures relating to transactions in support of the students, faculty,staffand administration.

  • Represent the school onUniversity-wide committees such asCU Student Records, CU-SIS Steering, and other working groups or projects as assigned.

  • Provideexpert guidance on policies and procedures related to registration, coursework, credits,gradingandrecordsretention, and FERPA.

  • Conduct systematic evaluation of all current and historical Denverstudent records, including credits, grades, and degree information tomaintaineffective data integrity.

  • Collaborate with other campus Registrar's Offices, schools, and programs, toenforcepolicies surrounding intercampus registrationand other special programs, involvingadditionalexternal stakeholders when applicable.

  • In conjunction with the University Registrar, ensure school compliance with FERPA, and support FERPA training for all faculty,staffand administrators.

  • Employee management, including hiring, onboarding, training, development, and performance management.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications you alreadypossess(Minimum Qualifications)

Applicants must meet minimum qualifications at the time ofhire.
  • Bachelor's degreefrom an accredited institutionin a related field.

  • Five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in management level positions, including supervisory experience.

Substitution: A combination of education and related technical/paraprofessional experience may be substituted for the bachelor's degree on a year for year basis.

Preferred Qualification topossess(Preferred Qualifications)
  • Master's degree or higher from an accredited college or university in student affairs, student personnel services, higher education, or related field of study.

  • Advanced experience with supervision and development of professional staff.

  • Experience at the Assistant Registrar level or above in a higher education Registrar's Office.

  • Prior experience with Oracle PeopleSoft SIS andother applications, such asOnBase,CollegeSource,Leepfrog, ParchmentandParadigm.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Outstanding interpersonal communication skills, characterized by the ability to work effectively with a range of constituents including students, faculty, alumni and School and University colleagues.

  • Capacity for critical thinking and logic to assimilate complex concepts in data and interpersonal relationships.

  • Demonstrated skill and knowledge of registrar profession.

  • Knowledge and understanding of the academic and curricular environment of a college or professional school.

  • Demonstrated familiarity with all Registrar related components of a student information system (SIS).

  • Ability to exercise considerable judgment and discretion in matters that are sensitive and confidential.

  • Ability to work independently and with a team.

Conditions of Employment
  • Occasional work during the evening and/or weekends may berequired.

  • This position follows a hybrid work structure where employees can work remotely or from the office, as needed, based on demands of specific tasksand operational requirements, and at the discretion of office leadership. Working from the office is encouraged when working on tasks that require a high degree of collaboration.

  • This position may be performed in a hybridmodality, requiring the ability to work effectively in a remote setting. This includesmaintaininga dedicated workspace free of excessive noise or distractions, reliable internet connectivity, and the ability toparticipatein virtual meetings for extended periods. Employees must be able to independently manage time, remain stationary for prolonged computer-based work, and transport necessary equipment (such as a laptop and peripherals)between their remote work location and the office as needed.

Compensation and Benefits

The salary range (or hiring range) for this position has beenestablishedat $91,766 - $95,000.

The salary of the finalist(s) selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, internal equity, experience, education,specialtyand training. The above salary range (or hiring range)representsthe University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range ofpossible compensationat the time of posting.
