Position Summary:
University Information Services (UIS) provides technical services and enterprise applications to the University of Colorado campuses and the Office of the President. UIS is committed to excellence in customer service and technical expertise. Through the development of enterprise applications, UIS supports the University as a whole with systems used by students, faculty, human resources employees, finance employees, and others.
The Lead Solutions Manager (HR-GL Applications) will be responsible for technical and functional oversight of the HR-GL and all HR-GL related components of the Human Capital Management (HCM) System. The Lead Solutions Manager will work closely with HR-GL Campus Stakeholder groups, Chief Human Resource Officers, Employee Services Leadership and Staff, other module Solutions Managers, and the OUC (Office of University Controllers) to align institutional business requirements with functional capabilities within the HCM system. This position reports to the Director of HR IT Services and is exempt from the State of Colorado Classified Staff System.
Where You Will Work:
Applicants must be Colorado residents or able to relocate to Colorado within a month of starting employment with University of Colorado System Administration.
This role is eligible to work remotely within Colorado.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Duties and responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to:
Primary Responsibilities:
- Manages the life cycle of all on-going functional enhancements within the HR-GL module to include business analysis, writing functional design specifications, completing unit testing, arranging system integrated testing/user acceptance testing, outlining training requirements, system documentation and communication, and coordinating promotion to the production system
- Gather and analyze business requirements and develop enhancements to achieve best outcomes
- Collaborates with Employee Services personnel, Campus Leads, OUC, and PeopleSoft development teams to ensure the system is subscribing to upcoming maintenance requirements, regulatory updates, PUM application releases, and setting the vision for the application roadmap as it pertains to the HR-GL module
- Performs system analysis, program specification, systems development, and support during planned and unplanned maintenance windows
- Influences key technical decisions such as standards, policies, and environment selection, architecture, and data flows
- Partners with UIS technical development staff to ensure business requirements and user stories are consumable by the technical development team
- Manages small to medium sized projects with cross functional and technical teams (i.e. fiscal year end needs)
- Perform research and develop new processes and applications for new and present systems
- Prepare documents and evaluate them for accuracy
- Manage and provide support to critical business application system
- Create and administer test cases and scripts
Secondary Responsibilities:
- Follows all change & release procedures and participates in change management at the system and campus layer
- Facilitates and participates in meetings with key stakeholders alongside Employee Services staff to develop project scope, requirements, and documentation for technical development
- Participates in the Higher Education community and with other Higher Education institutions to share knowledge and ensure CU is subscribing to industry trends and best practices
- Ensures cross-training of all business processes and functional setup of the module is dispersed to the HCM Systems Team, Employee Services, and UIS technical staff through proper documentation and communication to establish and meet agreed upon service level agreements
- Works with technical staff to develop coding/configuration guidelines/governance and project documentation
- Oversees all vendor management needs of the module

Salary: The anticipated hiring range has been established at $105,000-$107,000.

Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications:
Please include all relevant experience in your resume to be accurately assessed against these qualifications. You must meet all minimum requirements at the time of application to be considered for this role.
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution of higher education. A combination of education, technology training and industry certifications, and related experience may substitute for the degree on a year for year basis.
- Three (3) years' experience to include the following:
- Working within a PeopleSoft application
- Utilizing PeopleSoft Query
- Working with HR-GL or Finance Processes and Programs
- Knowledge of higher education or other complex business processes
- Supporting multiple applications
- Two (2) years' experience to include the following:
- PeopleSoft upgrades and PUM/Selective adoption cycles
- Testing software
- Writing test plans
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, CMIS, or other related area
- Experience using PeopleTools Testing Framework (PTF)
- Experience with PeopleTools version 8.61+
- Experience with PeopleSoft HCM application version 9.2
- Experience with vendor management
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
To be successful in this position a candidate will need the following:
- Knowledge of PeopleTools configuration to include Approval Workflow Engine, Templates, Profile Management, Related Content, etc.
- Knowledge of the project management lifecycle
- Knowledge of software development lifecycle (SDLC)
- Knowledge of and the ability to utilize SQL for mining data using a tool such as TOAD or SQL Developer
- Knowledge of software testing methodologies and best practices
- Ability to work independently and under pressure, to manage concurrent tasks and responsibilities, and to deal with changing priorities, while maintaining personal effectiveness.
- Ability to multi-task several testing projects
- Ability to establish and maintain good working relationships with co-workers, supervisors, other University Personnel, and the public.
- Skilled in effective communication, collaboration, and problem-solving.
