Job Summary
The Applied Mathematics Department at CU Boulder invites applications for a Temporary Researcher! This position includes developing material for a new course in quantum computing and its underlying information theory.

Who We Are
The Department of Applied Mathematics has its origins in the turn of the 20th century, and evolved out of the Department of Engineering Mathematics. The department instructs thousands of students and has a major research presence in computational and physical/biological mathematics and the statistical sciences. The faculty is composed of 21 tenured or tenure track faculty and nine full time instructors. In addition, the department is home to more than 90 graduate students including approximately 45 teaching assistants, about 160 applied math majors, 130 statistics and data science majors, 100 minors and a thriving accelerated Bachelor's/Master's 5-year program.
The department strives to be a leading program of applied mathematics. In 2018, the US News & World Report ranked the unit's graduate program 14th in the nation. The unit also ranked positively in many measures by the National Research Council in its 2010 decadal survey.
What Your Key Responsibilities Will Be
Develop new materials for a quantum computing course, which will include lecture notes, problem sets, exams and projects.

This is a temporary, full-time role.
What We Can Offer
The hourly rate for this temporary position is $39.00.

What We Require
PhD in the field of Applied Mathematics, with a specialization in Quantum Computing.
