Job Summary

The Assistant Director of Operations & Strategic Analytics serves as a key leader within Eagle Dining Services, bridging daily operations with data-driven strategy. This role is responsible for translating operational data into actionable insights, driving performance across dining locations, and leading initiatives that enhance efficiency, financial sustainability, and the overall student dining experience. This position plays a critical role in shaping operational strategy by identifying trends, optimizing resources, and supporting long-term planning efforts, including the Dining Master Plan. The Assistant Director works collaboratively with unit leaders, campus partners, and support teams to ensure consistent execution, informed decision-making, and continuous improvement across the dining program.

Responsibilities
  • Lead the development and oversight of operational KPIs, dashboards, and reporting tools to monitor performance across all dining locations
  • Analyze trends in sales, labor, food cost, and utilization to identify opportunities and drive strategic decision-making
  • Partner with dining leadership to align daily operations with long-term goals, ensuring consistency, efficiency, and high-quality service delivery
  • Support financial planning efforts through data-informed forecasting, budgeting insights, and performance evaluations
  • Identify and implement process improvements that enhance operational effectiveness, reduce waste, and optimize staffing models
  • Collaborate with IT, finance, and campus partners to enhance systems, reporting capabilities, and data integrity


Required Qualifications

Educational Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree

Other Required Qualifications
  • Ability to obtain Manager Serve Safe Manager Certification within 30 days of employment

Required Experience
  • Four (4) to six (6) years of experience in operations, analytics, business management, or food service leadership


Preferred Qualifications

Preferred Educational Qualifications
  • Master's degree

Preferred Experience
  • Experience in higher education dining, auxiliary services, or large-scale hospitality operations


Proposed Salary

$55,126 - $70,307

This is an exempt position paid on a monthly basis.

ABILITIES

  • Ability to support various constituencies served by the University
  • Proven proficiency with computers including Microsoft Office, Google, and/or applications as required for specific position
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze complex data and translate findings into actionable strategies

KNOWLEDGE
  • Adhere to University policies and procedures to meet Institutional goals and support University's mission for student success
  • Familiarity with POS systems, labor management tools, and inventory systems

SKILLS
  • Effective communication (verbal and written), organizational and human relations skills
  • Experience leading cross-functional projects or strategic initiatives
  • Experience with reporting tools, spreadsheets, and data visualization platforms
