The Dental Public Health Academic Affairs Manager is responsible for the daily operations and decision-making that supports the Health Policy & Health Services Research (HPHSR) Department and the Advanced Education Program in Dental Public Health. This person will manage the day-to-day operations for the five degree and certificate programs within HPHSR. They will be able to describe the programs, policies, and explain requirements to prospective and enrolled postgraduate students in each of the programs. The DPH Academic Affairs Manager will act as an advocate/facilitator on behalf of students in some situations and will work closely with the DPH Program Director, DPH Faculty as well as the dental school administration to accomplish these tasks. This position aids the Program Director and Faculty by preparing agendas for monthly faculty meetings, scheduling of courses, assisting faculty with audio-visual media and materials for each class, obtaining curriculum content materials when needed, updating of course syllabi, and disseminating key relevant information to all faculty members.
Required Skills
Bachelor's Degree and 1-3 years of experience. Strong interpersonal and leadership skills and a demonstrated ability to work well with a diverse student population; ability to develop and manage relationships across various stakeholders (i.e. students, faculty, program and university administration); ability to work both independently and as part of a team. Demonstrated ability to be self-motivated with problem solving; professional demeanor and excellent customer service abilities.
