The Williams College Men's Soccer team is searching for an energetic and organized temporary Assistant Coach to join our program for Fall 2026! We're looking for someone with a strong competitive background who excels at building relationships and is eager to contribute to all aspects of our program, from on-the-field technique to recruiting.
We are now accepting applications for the temporary position of Assistant Coach of Men's Soccer. This is a 40 hour per week, 20-week job with a full meal plan and is eligible for all legally mandated benefits, including Massachusetts paid sick leave and paid family and medical leave. The anticipated employment dates are August 2, 2026 through December 19, 2026.
Williams is a Division III institution and a member of the New England Small College Athletics Conference (NESCAC). The Williams Men's Soccer team reached the NCAA round of 16 three times in the last four years, national runner up in 2022, and finished in the top 10 three out of four years. Responsibilities:
- Practice and Training
- Provide instruction during practice and training sessions to assigned athletes and/or position groups
- Design and execute practice drills based on analyzed film for upcoming competition
- Be responsible for the set-up and break-down of position and team drills before and after practices
- Provide both group and individual advice to athletes to improve skills
- Provide instruction during practice and training sessions to assigned athletes and/or position groups
- Scouting and Recruiting
- Responsible for break-down and distribution of game and practice film for coaches and athletes to scout for upcoming competition
- Provide analysis to athletes and coaches of opponent film to prepare for upcoming competition
- Evaluate potential recruits through film, contact with coaches, and other means as permitted by NCAA regulations
- Communicate with potential student-athletes through a variety of means in compliance with NCAA standards, including phone, social media, and in-person meeting (when applicable. May require travel)
- Responsible for break-down and distribution of game and practice film for coaches and athletes to scout for upcoming competition
- Gameday Responsibilities
- Ensure playing area is ready for gameday activity, including set-up of markers, stands, video equipment, and bench area
- Provide in-competition support to assigned athletes and/or position group
- Assist head coach in executing established gameplan, including any in-game adjustments

- Coordinating Travel
- Make travel arrangements for the team to and from practice/competition (securing buses, vans, hotels, etc.)
- Keep track of expenses for travel
- Be prepared to drive college vehicle if necessary

- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent required
- Minimum 1 year of coaching experience required, additional experience preferred; significant college playing experience may substitute for 1 year coaching requirement
- Collegiate soccer playing experience preferred
- Knowledge of NESCAC and NCAA Division III policies and ability to abide by these
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively required
- Valid Driver's license. Successful completion of Motor Vehicle Records (MVR) check is also a condition of employment in order to be able to drive college vehicles and/or transport students.

Pay for this job is $1,700.00 biweekly and includes a full meal plan and is eligible for all legally mandated benefits, including Massachusetts paid sick leave and paid family and medical leave.
