Program Manager, Community Engaged Learning

Job Summary

The Program Manager for Community Engaged Learning (CEL) serves as the primary operational lead for CEL, overseeing the planning, coordination, and execution of CEL academic and student programs. Reporting to the Senior Associate Dean and working in partnership with the Faculty Director, the Program Manager ensures effective program delivery, strong student experiences, and efficient operational systems that support the University's community-engaged learning mission. This position is part of a dynamic team of staff and students in both Undergraduate Studies, with close working relationships with the Bennion Community Engagement Center. The Community Engaged Learning Program Manager is expected to participate actively in this interconnected team and to engage in campus-wide committees, task forces, and/or work groups as necessary or requested.

Responsibilities
Program Operations & Delivery
Lead day-to-day operations and implementation of CEL programs, including the Bennion Community Engagement Certificate, Bennion Community Engaged Scholars Program, and BENN/CEL-affiliated initiatives.
Develop, manage, and maintain operational workflows for recruitment, onboarding, advising, tracking, credentialing, and governance.
Ensure CEL programs operate effectively and consistently across academic years.
Student Programs & Advising
Serve as primary academic advisor and mentor for students in CEL programs.
Support student learning through orientation, reflection, community-based projects, and capstone experiences.
Recruit, train, and supervise the CEL student leadership team.
Coordinate instructional logistics with the Faculty Director.
Faculty & Community Coordination
Implement academic priorities established by the Faculty Director.
Coordinate faculty participation in CEL programs.
Maintain and develop partnerships with community organizations.
Serve as liaison between students, faculty, and community partners to support ethical and sustainable engagement.
Systems, Data & Assessment
Maintain program databases and tracking systems.
Collect, analyze, and report on student participation, learning outcomes, and program effectiveness.
Prepare reports and dashboards for the Senior Associate Dean and Undergraduate Studies leadership.
Use assessment data to inform program improvements.
Budget, Events & Administration
Manage operational budgets and program expenditures.
Plan and execute CEL events and student programming.
Maintain program documentation, policies, calendars, and communication materials.
Support advisory committees and governance structures.

Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in a related field plus two years of related experience or equivalency (one year of education can be substituted for two years of related work experience). Demonstrated human relations and effective communication skills also required.

Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Minimum of three years of experience in program management in higher education, non-profit, or community-based settings.
Experience advising or mentoring undergraduate students.
Strong organizational, written, and verbal communication skills.
Ability to manage multiple projects and stakeholders simultaneously.
Preferred Qualifications
Master's degree in a related field.
Experience with community-engaged learning, experiential education, or civic engagement.
Experience with program assessment and data analysis.
Experience supervising student staff or project teams.
