Assistant Professor Infectious Diseases, AC Track; Associate Medical Director ASP
Location: Philadelphia, PA
Open Date: Feb 13, 2026
Deadline: Feb 13, 2028 at 11:59 PM Eastern Time
Children's Hospital of Philadelphia and the Division of Infectious Diseases in the Department of Pediatrics at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania seek candidates for an Assistant Professor position in the non-tenure academic clinician track. Applicants must have an M.D. or equivalent degree. The ideal candidate will have formal training in both pediatric and adult infectious diseases and experience caring for pediatric and adult patient populations. Approximately 15% of this position is anticipated to be spent caring for adult patients. Adult infectious diseases subspecialty training is highly desired.
Teaching responsibilities may include high quality teaching of CHOP fellows and residents, as well as medical students from the Perelman School of Medicine, University of Pennsylvania.
Clinical responsibilities may include providing coverage in one or more of three inpatient consultation services, including a service focused on children with general infectious diseases, a service dedicated to the care of immunocompromised hosts, and an attending NP service currently focused on NICU and Orthopedic patients. Clinical responsibilities may also include seeing patients in the Division's busy outpatient clinical practice. In addition to the General Infectious Diseases Clinic, the Division supports dedicated partner clinics that provide collaborative outpatient care for patients with complex underlying conditions, including malignancies, bone marrow and organ transplantation, and cystic fibrosis.
Additionally, as CHOP expands its footprint (i.e., King of Prussia Hospital, potential sites in NJ) and the Division of Infectious Diseases partners with outside organizations, some local travel may be required.
This role will also include serving as Associate Medical Director of the Antimicrobial Stewardship Program, with responsibilities in stewardship-related research, quality improvement, and education.
Research Opportunities may be available in participation in divisional scholarship, education, clinical trials, global health initiatives, or fellowship leadership, depending on divisional needs and candidate interests.
