Job Description:
What We Are Looking For
Baylor University is searching for an Athletics Performance Coach - Olympic Sports that will be responsible for directing the physical preparation of the Equestrian and Women's Golf teams through the use of sport specific, scientifically based training programs that develop the qualities necessary to improve student-athletes' performance and wellness and aid in injury risk mitigation. This position will also have other sport and administrative duties as assigned.
Requires one of the two national certifications: CSCS or SCCC. All applicants need First Aid, CPR, and AED certifications. Once obtained, all certifications must remain current and not expired. Applicants must also have knowledge and adherence to Baylor University, Big 12 Conference, and NCAA rules and regulations.
All applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full time basis.
What Will You Do
- Provide a high level of service delivery, including enhancement programs as it related to injury prevention, and performance enhancement (strength development, power development, quadrennial planning, recovery, etc.)
- Provide effective written and oral communication between student-athletes, coaches, staff, administrators, etc
- Develop and maintain effective working relationships with Sports Performance Staff and relevant Athletic Department personnel
- Collaborate frequently with licensed Physical Therapists and Athletic Trainers regarding the rehabilitation progress and return to participation/play planning of injured student-athletes
- Provide leadership in administrative areas, as assigned by the Director of Sports Performance
- Maintain a safe training environment for Baylor student-athletes
- Maintain a high level of professional communication between sports coaching staff, athletic trainers, physical therapists, physicians, sports dietitians, and sports psychologists
- Adherence to all policies and procedures as identified by the Department of Athletics, Baylor University and the NCAA
- Perform all other duties as assigned to support Baylor's mission
- Ability to comply with University policies
- Maintain regular and punctual attendance
