Job Summary
The Business Master's Programs at the David Eccles School of Business, University of Utah, seeks a highly organized and proactive Program Manager to lead the coordination, execution, and continuous improvement of our graduate business programs.
This role is equal parts project manager and student experience leader, ensuring every process, event, and initiative runs smoothly and effectively. The successful candidate will manage timelines and deliverables, oversee complex projects, and collaborate across teams to uphold our high standards of academic and operational excellence.

Responsibilities
Project & Operations Management
- Lead the planning, coordination, and execution of program initiatives, events, and academic processes.
- Develop and manage project plans, timelines, and deliverables to ensure smooth operations and on-time completion.
- Track progress, identify interdependencies, and proactively address challenges or barriers.
- Evaluate and refine program processes using data and feedback to drive continuous improvement.
- Serve as the central coordination point among faculty, staff, and campus partners to maintain alignment and operational excellence.
Student Experience & Program Support
- Oversee day-to-day program operations, including scheduling, classroom coordination, and resource management.
- Plan and execute student engagement activities such as orientation, networking events, and community-building initiatives.
- Collaborate with admissions, advising, and career services to support student success across the entire lifecycle.
- Attend classes and events periodically to connect with students and provide faculty support.
Student Advising & Retention
- Provide individualized advising on course planning, registration, and academic progression.
- Monitor student performance and proactively address challenges through early intervention and support strategies.
- Coordinate and manage processes for student leaves of absence, pathway tracking, and graduation approvals.
- Lead onboarding and orientation for new students, ensuring they begin their program confident and well-prepared.
- Collaborate with faculty and staff to promote retention, timely degree completion, and overall student success.
Budget & Administrative Management
- Monitor expenditures, and ensure fiscal responsibility in alignment with institutional goals.
- Prepare reports and documentation to support planning and decision-making.
- Manage vendor coordination and procurement processes for program-related resources and events.

Work Environment and Level of Frequency typically required Environment: The role is based in a shared, open workspace designed to encourage active communication, collaboration, and teamwork.
Nearly Continuously: In-person, open-office environment with regular interaction and collaboration among students, faculty, and team members.
Physical Requirements and Level of Frequency that may be required Nearly Continuously: Sitting, hearing, listening, and talking.
Often: Repetitive hand motions (such as typing), walking, bending, reaching overhead, and lifting up to 25 lbs.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in a related field plus two years of related experience or equivalency (one year of education can be substituted for two years of related work experience). Demonstrated human relations and effective communication skills also required.

Full Time or Part Time? Full Time
Work Schedule Summary: Monday through Friday, with occasional evenings or weekends to support student-facing classes and events. This position is fully on-site and not eligible for hybrid or remote work arrangements. As an "essential" campus role, the employee is required to work in person at the University of Utah to support students, faculty, and staff directly.
