(Primary Location for Job Responsibilities) Our Kennesaw campus is located at 1000 Chastain Road NW, Kennesaw, GA 30144.
Our Marietta campus is located at 1100 South Marietta Parkway, Marietta, GA 30060.
Job Summary
Initiates and manages essential IT operations that support the intake, clarification, and routing of technology-related requests, ensuring requests are handled accurately and in line with university standards, policies, and procedures. Oversees contract workflows and supports key aspects of IT asset management, including software renewals, hardware tracking, and coordinating asset reassignment during personnel transitions. Works closely with university departments and IT teams to navigate technology-related challenges, upholds IT policies, and keeps internal documentation accurate and up to date. Actively contributes to ongoing process improvements that strengthen data quality, improve visibility into workflows, and support more efficient IT service delivery.
Responsibilities
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Responsible for IT technology requests, analyzes requirements, engages with requesters, and facilitates the item review process to ensure supportability, alignment with KSU's technology environment, complies with USG and KSU standards, avoids security risks, and prevents of technology duplication
2. Manages the UITS contract approval process, coordinates reviews, facilitates stakeholder feedback and approvals, resolves escalations, and ensures contracts meet IT standards and requirements
3. Leads the quoting process for standardized IT equipment requests, processes approximately 1,500 annually, and guides departments in making informed technology selections
4. Manages lifecycle replacement (LCR) computer requests, tracks submissions, coordinates fulfillment, and delivers reports to department leadership to support planning
5. Maintains accountability for hardware model creation and asset data accuracy by managing updates to inventory records on a weekly basis
6. Enhances operational efficiency by streamlining and documenting core IT support processes
7. Facilitates the Student Technology Fee (STF) request process by reviewing incoming requests, routing them through the approval workflow, and securing stakeholder approvals
8. Coordinates technology contract processing in the university's contract management system, including entry, monitoring, documentation collection, and signature verification
9. Initiates IT asset recovery processes for departing employees to ensure proper equipment reassignment
10. Works collaboratively with other UITS staff to plan and maintain daily operations and special projects
Required Qualifications
Educational Requirements
Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in related field or an equivalent combination of relevant education and/or experience
Required Experience
Two (2) years of related work experience
Preferred Qualifications
Preferred Experience
An advanced degree from an accredited institution of higher education in a related field
Experience with IT asset lifecycle systems or service applications
Experience with Peoplesoft, Workday, ServiceNow and Agiloft
Experience in higher education IT environments
Knowledge of IT operational workflows and practices for sustaining service provider relationships
Insight into IT business functions and the ongoing support of third-party service engagements
Proposed Salary

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES
Solid understanding of common IT software and hardware categories (e.g., desktops, laptops, peripherals) and their general use in a business environment
Awareness of institutional and regulatory guidelines related to technology standards and IT service approvals within a university or state environment (e.g., DOAS/USG frameworks)
Able to coordinate with vendors to align technology solutions with IT standards and service goals
Able to handle multiple tasks or projects at one time meeting assigned deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Excellent interpersonal, initiative, teamwork, problem solving, independent judgment, organization, communication (verbal and written), time management, project management, and presentation skills
Proficient with computer applications and programs associated with the position (i.e., Microsoft Office suite)
Strong attention to detail and follow up skills
Strong customer service skills and phone and e-mail etiquette
