Position Description
Under the direction of the Senior Associate Director of Admissions Operations, the Senior Admissions Evaluator is responsible for evaluating academic transcripts, determining transferable credit, and calculating GPA information for admitted undergraduate students. This role ensures accuracy and consistency in credit articulation and student record updates across systems, including Slate and Ellucian Colleague. The Senior Evaluator serves as a subject matter expert on academic policy, acts as a liaison to academic departments, and leads the Evaluations Team by providing guidance, training, and support. This position plays a key role in upholding data integrity and contributing to the university's undergraduate enrollment goals.
Key Responsibilities
Transfer Credit Evaluation & GPA Calculation (50%)
- Evaluate transcripts for transferable credit, including GPA calculations, course equivalencies, and fulfillment of prerequisites.
- Apply previous coursework toward degree requirements and determine current class standing.
- Post transfer credit and course equivalencies into Colleague (SIS) and Slate (CRM).
Policy Advising & Academic Liaison Work (10%)
- Serve as a resource for academic policies related to transfer and first-year admissions.
- Communicate with prospective students regarding evaluation results and transfer policies.
- Collaborate with academic departments to confirm major-specific requirements and transfer articulation.
System & Data Integrity (20%)
- Ensure accuracy and consistency of applicant records and data entry across Slate and Colleague.
- Perform regular data audits, batch updates, and quality control checks.
- Add and update equivalencies in the TES (Transfer Evaluation System) database.
Team Leadership & Collaboration (10%)
- Lead and delegate tasks to the Evaluations Team throughout the admissions cycle.
- Provide training and onboarding support for new evaluation staff members.
- Act as primary contact for internal and external partners on evaluation-related matters, including participation in intercollegiate articulation agreements and transfer working groups.
- Manage and lead 3-4 student workers in most effective and efficient office processes.
Operational & Cross-Functional Support (10%)
- Assist with scanning, indexing, and document processing workflows.
- Support general operations projects and cross-departmental coordination with Research and Analytics.
- Contribute to the development of tools and resources to better communicate transfer credit information to students.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree.
- One or more years of experience in customer service and data entry in an educational setting specifically related to credential or transfer evaluation, academic advising, or admissions.
- Ability to exercise sound judgment while balancing policy, precedent, and equity.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Demonstrated commitment to diversity and the university's mission, vision, and values.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience training and mentoring new team members.
- Familiarity with Ellucian Colleague, Slate (CRM), and TES (Transfer Evaluation System).
- Effective interpersonal skills and the ability to build collaborative relationships across departments.
- Resilient, solution-oriented, and capable of managing multiple priorities.

Compensation at a Glance
Salary Range: $52,400 - $54,500
Seattle University has provided a compensation range that represents its good faith estimate of what the University may pay for the position at the time of posting. The salary offered to the selected candidate will be determined based on factors such as the qualifications of the selected candidate, departmental budget availability, internal salary equity considerations, and available market information, and not based on a candidate's gender or any other protected status.
