Job Summary:

The Davila Lab aims to understand the cellular and molecular signals that promote the generation of potent and long-lasting tumor-specific T cell responses. The lab provides an exciting opportunity to participate in basic, translational, and preclinical work on projects related to cancer immunotherapy and T cell biology, gaining experience in several different areas of cancer research. Lab members are supported in attending national and international conferences to present their work. This position will perform duties related to cancer immunotherapy and to upkeeping the laboratory.



Key Responsibilities:
  • Collects, accurately records, and analyzes data in conjunction with other research staff.
  • Isolate human RBC and WBC from blood.
  • Measure levels of immune blood cells in mice.
  • Use, care and maintenance of animals.
  • Perform flow cytometric analyses.
  • Perform ELISA assays.
  • Perform PCR analyses.
  • Perform western blot analyses.
  • Perform microscopic analyses.
  • Order reagents and materials and oversee inventory.
  • Maintains laboratory records, supplies, samples in an organized manner.
  • Depending on experience, the employee will also be required to prepare reports for funders and assist with development.

Onsite - this role is expected to work onsite and is located in Aurora, CO.

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

Entry Level:
  • Bachelor's degree in biology, molecular biology, chemistry, genetics, or related field.



Intermediate Level:
  • Bachelor's degree in biology, molecular biology, chemistry, genetics, or related field.
  • One (1) year professional level research experience.



A combination of education and related technical/paraprofessional experience may be substituted for the bachelor's degree on a year for year basis.



Applicants must meet minimum qualifications at the time of hire.



Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master's degree in biology, molecular biology, chemistry, genetics, or related field.
  • Two (2) years of experience in an experimental or wet laboratory.
  • Experience in molecular biology, cellular immunology, and animal models.



Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Proficient knowledge of basic laboratory techniques including safety procedures and techniques.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both in writing and orally.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees at all levels throughout the institution.
  • Outstanding customer service skills.
  • Knowledge of basic human anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology.
  • Ability to interpret and master complex research protocol information.

Anticipated Pay Range:

The starting salary range (or hiring range) for this position has been established as:



Entry Level: $46,274 - $58,861

Intermediate Level: $50,357 - $64,054



The above salary range (or hiring range) represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. This position may be eligible for overtime compensation, depending on the level.
