Position Summary
Assumes responsibility for the coordination and administrative support for all HCD ensemble programming. Performs all duties in full support of the University's mission, understanding that the positive and effective execution of these duties are instrumental to the education of the University's students.

Hiring Range
Budgeted starting hourly rate is $18.60 to $19.15, depending upon experience

Key Responsibilities
  • Establishes, cultivates and maintains effective working relationships with internal faculty and program staff in an effort to facilitate efficient operations of HCD's ensemble programs. Provides prompt, timely and professional support and services to HCD constituencies, parents and students regarding ensemble operations and opportunities. Addresses questions and/or concerns in a manner consistent with HCD and University policy, procedure and/or precedence. Researches and/or resolves inquiries, referring issues or concerns to other HCD personnel for proper follow-up action as necessary and/or appropriate.
  • Oversees annual ensemble activities including, but not limited to, Audition Festival and Connecticut Youth Symphony Sectionals and Competition.
  • Trains and oversees the Ensemble Managers.
  • In consultation with HCD management, provides administrative support as well as facilitates and coordinates communication between key HCD program constituents, instructors, students and their families consistent with HCD's core values and its commitment to excellence and inclusion. Actively participates in the evaluation of existing HCD business and technological processes in an effort to continuously improve operational effectiveness. Implements business process improvements, using technology as well as ongoing revitalization initiatives in an effort to align program goals and outcomes with current process and policy as well as in support of the University's strategic goals.
  • Coordinates and/or attends key HCD performances and events in an effort to ensure effective operations and support for students and performers before, during and after the performance as necessary and/or appropriate. Follows up with HCD management to provide feedback relative to performances.
  • Collaborates with internal constituents in an effort to ensure a clear and consistent message to all students, parents and community members. Coordinates HCD outreach opportunities in consultation with the Assistant Director and program staff. Reviews and/or updates HCD communications and other publications in compliance with established branding and marketing guidelines set by the Office of Marketing and Communication.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
