Location

Our Kennesaw campus is located at 1000 Chastain Road NW, Kennesaw, GA 30144. Our Marietta campus is located at 1100 South Marietta Parkway, Marietta, GA 30060.

Job Summary

Responsible for leading and executing creative graphic design strategies for KSU Athletics. Produces creative content to drive and enhance fan engagement, brand awareness, revenue, and advertising efforts. Builds brand awareness, in accordance with brand standards and positive messaging to prospective student-athletes, fans, and other current and future athletics supporters. Collaborates with multiple internal and external constituents to further enhance design and engagement efforts.

Responsibilities

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Assists in brand building and external operations efforts of the athletic department through creative graphic design of assets for multiple purposes inclusive but not limited to social media content, printed promotional collateral, in-venue and digital broadcast graphics, and external other collateral
2. Oversees the development and implementation of a strategic creative graphics design calendar and contributes to the management of a comprehensive creative calendar
3. Creates needed creative graphics for external operations and other athletics department efforts inclusive but not limited to broadcast, fundraising, marketing, communications, recruiting, and student athlete services
4. Responsible for researching digital advertising, media and technology trends that present creative design opportunities to drive innovation and revenue through ticket sales, sponsorships, fundraising, merchandise, and other strategic initiatives
5. Assists in formulating, stewarding, and enhancing partnerships with internal, campus, and external partners inclusive but not limited to KSU Athletics Sponsorship team, University Strategic Communication Office, and members of the conference
6. Supervises and leads assigned staff, student assistants and/or interns
7. Responsible for managing the assigned approved budget and fiscal processes of the department
8. Assists with publishing across athletics social media channels, digital display mediums, website, email platforms, and other mediums maintained by the athletics external staff as assigned
9. Manages and organizes databases of creative graphic assets as part of a comprehensive athletics digital media and creative services asset management plan
10. Supports Athletics Revenue Share efforts and individual sport recruiting efforts within compliance with NCAA, conference, and university guidelines and policies
11. Develops and updates creative graphic design style book for each fiscal year to provide guidelines and best practices for graphic use across the athletic department and as part of a comprehensive creative media plan for athletics

Required Qualifications

Educational Requirements
Bachelor's from an accredited institution of higher education in graphic design, communications, marketing or related field

Other Required Qualifications
Current, valid, and unrestricted driver's license

Required Experience
Two (2) year of related work experience in professional sports, collegiate athletic department, communications, or marketing or related field.

Preferred Educational Qualifications
An advanced degree from an accredited institution of higher education in a related field

Able to develop creative graphic design assets focused on driving fan attendance and revenue generation
Able to create, utilize, and interpret brand standards
Able to perform detail-oriented work accurately and to communicate effectively with a diverse population
Able to handle multiple tasks or projects at one time meeting assigned deadlines

KNOWLEDGE
Demonstrated knowledge of social media, fan engagement, revenue generation, and other strategic tactics that maximize graphic design

SKILLS
Excellent interpersonal, initiative, teamwork, problem solving, independent judgment, organization, communication (verbal and written), time management, project management and presentation skills
Highly proficient design skills and ability to collaborate with creative teams in the department
Proficient with computer applications and programs associated with the position (i.e., Microsoft Office suite, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe InDesign, Adobe Illustrator, and Adobe After Effects, web design, including HTML and CSS)
Strong attention to detail and follow up skills
Strong customer service skills and phone and e-mail etiquette
