Job Summary

Kutztown University of Pennsylvania enrolls approximately 7,500 students across its graduate and undergraduate programs. Located in a charming rural setting in Kutztown, Pennsylvania, the University is just a 20-minute drive from the metropolitan areas of Allentown/Bethlehem and Reading, and about an hour from the Philadelphia metropolitan area. The University seeks to hire employees with experience working with diverse populations.

The Elementary, Middle Level, Library and Technologies Department at Kutztown University invites applicants for two temporary full-time faculty positions in teacher education with the specific assignment of teaching courses in our undergraduate and graduate Elementary and Middle Level teacher preparation programs. Areas of instruction include, but are not limited to, literacy, math methods, science methods, and supervision of student teaching and other clinical experiences. Targeted departmental and university needs indicate that the position will include a full-time teaching load with four courses in the fall and four in the spring. Besides teaching, hired temporary faculty in the department advise students, contribute to departmental, college, and university service as needed, and continue their scholarly growth.

Minimum Qualifications

- A master's degree in education is required
- Five years of teaching experience in public schools with grades PreK-8th
- Experience working with racially, culturally, and linguistically diverse student populations.

Preferred Qualifications

- A PhD or EdD in education or a related field is preferred.
- Experience supervising teachers as a cooperating/mentor teacher, university supervisor, instructional coach, and/or building principal/supervisor.
- Experience teaching university coursework related to teacher education, and experience with English learner populations.
