Job Description:
Technology Services at Madison College is currently seeking a Field Support Technician to join our team. This position is responsible for providing technical support for computer hardware, software, and peripherals across workstations, classrooms, and labs to ensure the delivery of reliable technology services.
Key responsibilities of the Field Support Technician include troubleshooting and resolving technical issues, installing and configuring equipment, and collaborating with stakeholders to maintain efficient technology operations. Success in this role supports institutional goals by ensuring consistent access to technology resources, minimizing disruptions to learning and administrative functions, and promoting a positive user experience across all district locations.
The standard schedule for this position is Monday through Friday, 8:00am - 4:30pm. This role offers the option to work remotely one day per week, subject to change in accordance with Madison College policy.

Accountabilities:
- Troubleshoots, maintains and repairs computer hardware, peripherals and software across workstations, classrooms and labs to ensure technology reliability and minimize disruptions.
- Installs, configures and refreshes computer equipment, including software imaging and peripheral setup, to support instructional and administrative needs.
- Responds to and prioritizes service requests, collaborating with the Help Desk and technical teams to ensure timely resolution of hardware and software issues.
- Assists faculty, staff and students by diagnosing and resolving user-related technology problems to improve productivity and learning experiences.
- Manages independent travel to district locations to provide onsite support and ensure consistent service delivery across campuses.
- Maintains positive working relationships with vendors and external technical support personnel to expedite complex issue resolution and equipment maintenance.
- Documents new troubleshooting procedures, system configurations and resolutions to enhance team knowledge sharing and improve support processes.
- Stays current with emerging technologies, participating in professional development and sharing insights with colleagues to improve institutional technology practices.
- Contributes to an inclusive, equitable and supportive environment where everyone at the institution feels valued, respected and empowered to reach their full potential.
- Adheres to college policies, directives and work rules while maintaining a commitment to the college's mission, vision and values.
- Performs other related duties within the scope of the position as required for the efficient operation of the division and to support institutional objectives.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Knowledge of computer hardware, operating systems and peripherals used in workstation, classroom and lab environments.
- Knowledge of software imaging, installation and configuration processes.
- Skill in diagnosing and resolving hardware, software and peripheral issues.
- Skill in documenting troubleshooting procedures, system configurations and resolutions.
- Ability to travel independently across district locations to provide onsite technology support.
- Ability to manage multiple processes, meet deadlines and maintain accuracy in a fast-paced environment.
- Skill in engaging positively with all populations and communities, contributing to a safe and inclusive learning and work environment.
- Skill in effectively and respectfully communicating with others.
Minimum Requirements:
- Education:
Associates Degree required or equivalent additional work experience. - Experience:
1-3+ years of relevant work experience. - Must have valid driver's license
