Position Summary
Assumes responsibility for facilitating, planning and programming related to The Hartt School's admission and recruitment functions. Partners with Hartt Administration, faculty, staff, and other key constituents to develop, implement, evaluate, and re-envision Hartt's admission and recruitment efforts for the college ensuring alignment commensurate with a world-class conservatory. Responsible for awarding Financial Aid allocations and monitoring all Financial Aid endowment accounts including creating reports for the Dean's Office. Performs all duties in full support of the University's mission, understanding that the positive and effective execution of these duties is instrumental to the education of the University's students.

Hiring Range
Budgeted Salary is $58,024 to $68,000, depending upon Experience

Key Responsibilities
  • Directs, develops, and implements unique prospect-centered admission programming that highlights the School and creates pathways for current and future applicants, including transfer students. Directs and manages recruitment events including, but not limited to, University-wide initiatives, class visits, and prospective student tours. Oversees, organizes, facilitates, and evaluates recruitment, admission, and yield programs. Effectively partners with alumni and other external constituents to build partnerships designed to raise the profile of The Hartt School and expand recruitment efforts and reach. Directs, plans, organizes, and travels for regional/national college fairs, workshops, and seminars.
  • Designs, develops, implements, and evaluates departmental policies and procedures. Strategically guides the development and implementation of short and long range recruitment and admission strategies designed to meet yield targets while ensuring a well-balanced applicant pool for dance, music, and theater.
  • Advises and counsels prospective students and families regarding collegiate programs, application requirements and procedures as well as financial aid opportunities available at the University. Manages applications, for a designated area, utilizing the University's platform, tracking applicant contact and facilitating application completion, and procurement and completions of admission decisions.
  • Responsible for awarding Financial Aid allocations and monitoring all Financial Aid endowment accounts including creating reports for the Dean's Office. Works with Office of Development and Alumni Affairs to help with stewardship of donors and endowment account reports.
  • Directs all internal and external departmental communications. Partners effectively with the Office of Marketing and Communication to develop and maintain a vibrant presence consistent with University standards and in compliance with established policies and branding guidelines. Collaboratively works with internal offices to ensure complete and accurate communications with applicants, prospects, as well as accepted or alternate offer/denial candidates.
  • Serves as liaison between prospective students and individual faculty members in an effort to support visits, auditions, interview requirements, and understanding changes to curriculum to facilitate the admission application decision. Establishes, cultivates, and maintains effective working relationships with Hartt's community programs to ensure schoolwide success, while leveraging available options.
  • Works strategically with collegiate department chairs, administration, and key partners on campus to develop enrollment targets through programmatic growth and identifies opportunities for recruitment zones. Maintains a solid knowledge of applicable admission and financial aid policies, processes, procedures, and guidelines as well as curriculum requirements within each Hartt collegiate program.
  • Serves on internal and external committees as necessary and/or appropriate.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
