The pay rate for this position is $24.00 to $28.00 per hour based on experience and is non-negotiable.
FUNCTION OF THE UNIT
The Computing Curriculum Development project will launch a sustainable two-semester capstone project course for the undergraduate degree in Computer Science at SDSU.
PURPOSE OF THE POSITION
To support Computer Science Professors in designing and implementing a two-semester capstone project course for the undergraduate degree in Computer Science at SDSU, and to support senior student teams and industry partners in their projects designing, building, and testing software engineering solutions and products.
Responsibilities
Industry Communication and Customer Support 25%
- Reach out and engage with industry partners
- Assist in setting up six industry-sponsored projects
- Work closely with SDSU Contracts and Procurement on all aspects of the Service Learning Agreements, MOU's & Affiliation Agreements
- Send out electronic forms to new partners via Adobe sign and assures all are completed correctly and filed appropriately
- Maintain regular communication channels with industry partners
Project Management 25%
- Support teams of students regularly meeting with industry sponsors, tracking the scope and needs of each project, from design to final deliverables
- Keep all informed of project progress and deadlines
- Assist in ensuring deadlines and project timelines are met
General Administrative Support 25%
- Support Professors with weekly status and progress reports
- Track and report cost information and records
Programs and Events 15%
- Coordinate a final Design Day in May 2026 with an audience of industry sponsors, fellow teams, faculty, and other computer science students
- Coordinate Venue, Catering, Parking, Flyers, Registration, and Sign in Sheets
- Assist in designing the Marketing Program
Other Duties and Responsibilities as assigned 10%
Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Education
High school diploma or equivalent
Minimum Experience
Previous experience in an office or administrative environment
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS AND SPECIAL SKILLS
- Bachelor's degree and currently enrolled in a graduate degree program
- Uses project management tools to manage small projects and programs
- Event planning experience
- Knowledge of software development life cycle (SDLC)
- Knowledge of Agile software development principles
- Highly effective communicator
- Experience with managing projects
