The Division of Cardiovascular Medicine in the Department of Medicine at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania seeks candidates for a Research Associate position in the Academic Support Staff. This appointment will be initially for one (1) year and continuation during that time period and renewal are based on satisfactory performance and availability of funding (limited to three (3) years). Expertise is required in the specific area of health services research, with a focus on the use of large-scale data sources, including administrative claims and electronic health records (EHR). Applicants must have a Ph.D. degree.

Responsibilities may include designing, conducting, and analyzing data from research studies evaluating the impact of health and social policies-such as Medicaid and the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP)-on health outcomes. A successful candidate will lead data analysis, manage research projects, and oversee a team of trainees and statistical analysts. This position includes responsibilities in project design, implementation, data interpretation, and manuscript preparation. At least 2-3 years of experience with manuscript preparation and leading data-driven research is preferred.

Doctor of Medicine or Doctor of Philosophy, and 2 to 3 years of postdoctoral experience is required.
