The Information Technology Services Department of the Long Beach Community College District is seeking highly-qualified individuals to be our Applications Development Analyst IV! The incumbent will provide technical production support for an Integrated Data Management Information System (Student, Financials, HR/Payroll) and any third-party systems integrated with this system. We are looking for someone who develops specifications, performs system design, develops complex applications programs and troubleshoots the applications. Implements and documents complex application programs based on the organization's development standards. Works with a team of technical staff that develops and maintains the Student Finance, Financial Aid, Human Resources, Finance and Student Administration Environments. AT-A-GLANCE POSITION INFORMATION
- Type of position: Full time (40 hours/week)
- Position Status: Permanent
- Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM
- Location: Liberal Art Campus, but will support both campuses
- Salary: Management Range 10, $115,069.00 - $156,783.00 Annually
- *Eligibility list: Will be valid for 6 months once approved or ratified by the Personnel Commission. We reserve the right to use the established eligibility list for vacancies (permanent and temporary) in this classification as well as related classifications
- Advanced salary placement: Generally, new employees start at the first step on the salary schedule. Advanced salary placement may be considered on a case-by-case basis; however, please note that requests are typically capped at Step 3.

Duties
GENERAL PURPOSE
Provides technical production support for an Integrated Data Management Information System (Student, Financials, HR/Payroll) and any third party systems integrated with this system. The analyst/programmer develops specifications, performs system design, develops complex applications programs and troubleshoots the applications. Implements and documents complex application programs based on the organization's development standards. Works with a team of technical staff that develops and maintains the Student Finance, Financial Aid, Human Resources, Finance and Student Administration Environments.
DISTINGUISHING CHARACTERISTICS
Applications Development Analyst IV is an intermediate classification in the Applications Development Analyst classification series. Incumbents must have functional knowledge of the specialty area demonstrated by an understanding and use of advanced principles and theories and ability to integrate work related knowledge to address problems. The incumbent must apply competencies in applying standard and nonstandard technology applications and exploring and adapting to changing technology. This classification is responsible for applying technical judgement, recognizing problems, using reasoning and logic to establish possible causes, interpret and apply theories and principles, generate alternative solutions, and implement a plan of action for the best resolution. The incumbent will develop solutions where precedents do not always exist.

Qualifications
Education, Training and Experience:
Bachelor's Degree from an accredited four-year college or university in Computer Science, Information Systems, Computer Information Systems, Engineering or related field. Three years of hands-on experience including experience developing and/or programming SQR, BI Publisher, Cobol, Application Engine, PeopleTools, PeopleCode, Component Interface, Business Interlinks, PeopleSoft Application Designer, SQL Server database, or advanced SQL or T-SQL; or an equivalent combination of training and experience is required
Experience is evaluated on the basis of a verifiable 40- hour week, unless specified otherwise. Prorated part-time experience may be acceptable.
Licenses; Certificates; Special Requirements:
May require a valid California driver's license and the ability to maintain insurability under the District's vehicle insurance policy.
Meeting the minimum requirements of the position does not guarantee advancement in the selection process. Candidate qualifications will be assessed to determine those who meet and exceed requirements, and are deemed most competitive amongst the applicant pool to proceed.

Selection Process:
The following examination segments are pass/fail and may be utilized during the selection process:
- screening of the applicant's training, background, and experience
