Monday - Friday; 12:30 pm - 4:30 pm
Non-benefited position
GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES:
Operate switchboards and connect callers to the appropriate people or resources as well as answer in-person questions from faculty, staff, students, and college guests.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Answer telephone calls and greet customers in a polite and informative manner.
- Evaluate and direct calls to the appropriate person, department or resource.
- Be in a position to accept incoming calls at all times during business hours unless other temporary arrangements have been made.
- Maintain a good working knowledge of departments and events by reading all relevant college bulletins and communications.
- Greet, provide information to, and direct visitors to the appropriate individual(s) and/or department(s).
- Maintain communication with supervisors to ensure that they are made aware of unusual circumstances or events relating to the operator's duties.
- Perform other related work as required.
Job Requirements:
- Basic understanding of phone and switchboard systems
- Proven customer service & interpersonal skills
- Demonstrated excellent communication skills
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as policies or manuals
- Bi-lingual capabilities preferred, but not required
- Successful experience working with a culturally diverse population
- Candidates will be required to pass a CORI/SORI and/or a National background check as a condition of employment
Additional Information:
SALARY: $17.85/hour, non-benefited
