Job Description:
Are you passionate about international education and excited to help students around the world discover Madison College? We are looking for an enthusiastic International Recruitment and Communications Specialist to play a key role in our efforts to bring international student perspectives to Madison College.
In this role, you will train, support, and engage with recruitment partners, deliver presentations both in-person and virtually, and travel abroad 1-2 times a year to attend recruitment fairs to help prospective international students discover the unique opportunities Madison College offers. Many international students first learn about Madison College through the impactful marketing materials and recruitment resources that you will create. You will support prospective students through the international admission process and help prepare them for a successful experience at Madison College. We are seeking someone with a background in recruitment, marketing, and communications who has demonstrated interest in international education. You will develop and strengthen recruitment strategies as well as facilitate integration into our campus community, making Madison College a top choice for students looking to study in the U.S.
As part of the CIE team, you will also assist in coordinating marketing and communications for all CIE services including study abroad programs, virtual exchange initiatives, campus wide programming, international student services, and campus/community outreach. You will have the opportunity to maintain and improve current resources while developing new strategies to engage and recruit international students.

This full-time, exempt position offers exceptional benefits and is located at our Truax Campus in the vibrant and diverse city of Madison, Wisconsin's 2nd largest city and state capital. This role offers the flexibility to perform some work remotely, with the expectation of in- office work three (3) days a week, subject to change according to Madison College policy.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop & Implement Recruitment Strategies: Assist in the creation of the international student recruitment plan, leveraging travel, virtual events, social media, partnerships, technology, and targeted ads to meet marketing and enrollment goals.
- Agent & Partner Relations: Build strong relationships with agents and partners, providing training and support to drive student recruitment efforts. Oversee agent contracts, payments, and activities.
- Community Engagement: Foster relationships with community organizations, local groups, and high school counselors to support recruitment and raise awareness.
- Scholarship Coordination: Collaborate with agents and college departments to manage student scholarship processes, ensuring smooth execution and access to resources.
- Marketing & Communications: Support creation of marketing content for study abroad, virtual exchange, and other CIE services, including website updates, social media, email campaigns, and print materials.
- Alumni Network Management: Build and maintain an alumni network to highlight graduate success stories, support recruitment efforts, and provide insights on employment trends.
- Technology & Recruitment Tools: Develop and improve recruitment technologies, including lead tracking, automated communications, virtual fairs, outreach campaigns, and integration with CIE processes to streamline student enrollment.
- International Admissions Support: Advise international students throughout the admissions process, ensuring compliance with visa requirements, SEVIS reporting, and other international student policies to facilitate a smooth transition into academic programs and the campus community.
Knowledge Skills and Abilities:
- Communication Skills: Strong oral and written communication abilities, with experience engaging diverse populations, including those from various socioeconomic and cultural backgrounds, and individuals with differing abilities.
- International Programs Knowledge: Familiarity with higher education international programs, trends in student mobility, recruitment strategies, and enrollment management. Understanding of U.S. education systems, including 2+2 transfer, and international education systems.
- Visa & Compliance Knowledge: Willingness to undergo rigorous training in visa regulation and compliance to gain knowledge of international student visa regulations, SEVIS system, and visa issuance processes. Experience in advising and maintaining confidentiality.
- Relationship-Building & Collaboration: Ability to build effective relationships with students, families, colleagues, and international partners. Skilled in both independent work and collaborative environments, with leadership experience and adaptability in fast-paced settings. Strong commitment to professional growth and college values.
- Travel Experience: Ability to engage in international travel to deliver on-site prospective student recruitment and develop partner relations.
- Preferred experience with recruitment, marketing/communications, or related fields, working to recruit international students to U.S. higher education institution(s).
Qualifications:
- Minimum Education

- Two (2) years of professional work experience.
- Ability to attain Designated School Official (DSO) standing in SEVIS (Student and Exchange Visitor Information System). Per federal regulation, a SEVIS DSO must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident.
