Position Summary
The Human Resources Employee Relations and Workday Support Specialist will play a critical role in supporting the HR department during the Workday implementation. This position will provide essential support across employee relations, compliance, ADA accommodations, and PFML-related leave support while also contributing to overall HR operations. The ideal candidate will bring a combination of strong interpersonal, organizational, and technical skills, as well as the ability to adapt to a dynamic work environment.Key Responsibilities
Employee Relations and Compliance Support
  • Assist the Senior Associate Director of Employee Relations and Legal Compliance Specialist with employee relations issues.
  • Interpret and apply HR policies and employment laws, ensuring compliance with regulations.
  • Serve as a point of contact for employee inquiries, escalating complex matters when necessary.
  • Draft and maintain documentation for employee relations cases as directed.
Disability and Religious Accommodations Processing
  • Conduct intake for disability and religious accommodation requests, ensuring compliance with College policies and applicable law and preparation of accurate documentation.
  • Schedule and coordinate follow-up meetings and the interactive process with managers.
  • Collaborate with the Senior Associate Director to draft and finalize accommodation plans.
  • Take ownership of accommodation processing tasks, maintaining confidentiality and compliance.
Benefits and Leave Management Support
  • Provide support to the Benefits department during the Workday implementation
  • Run reports, validate leave requests, and communicate updates with Payroll.
  • Support the administration and tracking of leaves.
  • Assist with employee communication and education on leave policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
  • Help manage medical leaves administration and communication, providing clear and thoughtful guidance to employees throughout the leave process.
Workday Implementation
  • Support various HR functions during the Workday implementation
  • Adapt to new systems and assist HR team members with Workday processes.
General HR Support
  • Provide administrative and project management support.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service to employees and managers across the organization.
Qualifications
Required
  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years in Human Resources, management, or a related role involving employee relations, policy interpretation, and supporting managers.
  • Education: Bachelor's degree required
  • People Management: Demonstrated success in supporting/managing teams, resolving workplace issues, and fostering positive work environments.
  • Knowledge: Comprehensive understanding of federal and Massachusetts employment laws, regulations (including ADA compliance), and HR best practices.
  • Communication Skills: Exceptional verbal and written communication abilities, with experience handling sensitive employee conversations and crafting clear, professional documentation.
  • Problem-Solving: Proven ability to navigate complex workplace situations, apply critical thinking, and provide effective, compliant solutions.
  • Project Management: Experience managing multiple priorities, meeting deadlines, and delivering results in a fast-paced environment.
  • Technical Proficiency: Strong aptitude for learning and using HRIS systems (e.g., Workday, PeopleSoft) and generating actionable reports including data validation and system testing
  • Customer Service: Commitment to providing high-quality service to employees and managers, with a focus on responsiveness and empathy.
Preferred
  • Experience with Workday or other HRIS systems.
  • Project management and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Familiarity with benefits administration processes, including leave management and experience with Massachusetts Paid Family and Medical Leave (PFML) law and regulations.

The College is committed to providing competitive market pay for its employees. The College also offers a competitive benefits package for full-time staff, including:
