What We Are Looking For

Baylor University is seeking an Armstrong Browning Library & Museum Host to support the mission and vision of the University within the University Libraries Division. The Armstrong Browning Library & Museum Host reports to the Event Manager and ensures that visitors to the Armstrong Browning Library & Museum (ABL) are greeted, welcomed, and enjoy a safe, secure, and informative visit. This is a part-time position.

A High School Diploma and one year of relevant work experience is required. An Associate's Degree and three years of relevant work experience is preferred.

Preferred Skills:
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills with a keen ability to improvise and adapt when giving group tours
  • Basic computer skills and a willingness to learn new systems are required to be successful in the role

Required hours: Ability to work consistently Monday to Friday from 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm with occasional evening and weekend hours.

Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.

What You Will Do
  • Greet visitors and give group tours of the ABL
  • Maintain awareness of and assist with scheduled events in the ABL
  • Answer the telephone, transfer calls, and take messages
  • Assist supervisor by overseeing student workers
  • Notify supervisor and/or facility services of maintenance issues
  • Stock and cashier in the gift shop
  • Help arrange furniture (chairs, tables, etc) and facilitate events hosted at the ABL
  • Relieve supervisor by managing weekend or evening events in the ABL as assigned
  • Perform all other duties as assigned to support Baylor's mission
  • Ability to comply with University policies
  • Maintain regular and punctual attendance
