Job description
The primary purpose of this position is to assist the Foundation Director of Finance with the day-to-day financial operations of the Foundation. This includes preparing payments to vendors and distributing those checks, monitoring the daily cash transactions between gift receipting and the daily bank information, preparing monthly reports to the campus community, and preparing journal entries. This position is responsible for accumulating all the Foundations financial transactions from the Universities system, reconciling this information and recording to the Foundation system.
Minimum Qualifications
- Knowledge of accounting principles and practices sufficient to analyze, interpret, and prepare financial information, records, and reports.
- Ability to interpret and explain accounting and related fiscal policies, procedures, and practices to customers.
- Ability to develop, prepare, and explain clear, concise reconciliations, and fiscal reports.
- Knowledge of standard computer software programs for e-mail, word processing, spreadsheets, and databases sufficient to create, modify, and protect files.
- Skills in word processing sufficient to prepare, edit, and finalize emails, memos, reports, and /or other documents and types of written communication that are grammatically correct, in proper format, and free of spelling errors.
- Knowledge of communications sufficient to fluently communicate, read, understand, and respond to a variety of communications, such as customers' questions, requisitions, purchase orders, detailed instructions and procedures, and distribution lists.
Preferred Qualifications
- Demonstrated commitment to fostering a diverse working and learning environment.
- Associates Degree or Bachelor's Degree in Accounting
- Knowledge of Workday accounting system
- Experience with Non-profit organizations including Non-profit organizational accounting software
Based on the essential functions of this positions, MMB Policy #1422, and University policies relating to flexible work, this position is eligible for the following work modes: Telework: Up to 10% of the time. A position with a work arrangement that allows an employee to perform work on a regular basis at a telework location that is not the employee's permanent/principal work location.
