Advancement at CU Boulder encourages applications for a Senior Development Assistant, Leeds School of Business! This position uses autonomy, independence and subject matter expertise to provide administrative support and office management for a high-performing and team-orientated advancement team.
This position will work under minimal direction on a broad array of administrative duties that are variable and sophisticated in nature and is tasked with exercising a high level of discretion and confidentiality, especially as it relates to assigned responsibilities with donors, faculty, staff and administration. This role applies skills and knowledge in multiple administrative functions, but many responsibilities reflect a distinct Advancement component.

What Your Key Responsibilities Will Be
Administrative Support
- Provides primary administrative support for the Assistant Dean and the Leeds advancement team. Support includes, but is not limited to, preparing routine and non-routine correspondence, document management, and organizing staff meetings and team retreats.
- Strategize and complete travel arrangements (which may include detailed itineraries reflecting appointments with donors) for the Assistant Dean of Advancement.
- Uses data from university databases to build requested reports, spreadsheets, and donor correspondence.
- Initiate, schedule and coordinate internal and external meetings for the Leeds advancement team.
- Prepare and distribute various materials including financial and administrative reports and personal letters of invitation, thanks, explanation, information, and cultivation.
- Monitor and record donations.
- Provide event support and preparation as necessary.
- Assistance with special projects.
- In conjunction with the Assistant Dean, manage the team's budgets and serve as primary liaison for budgetary questions and operations.
- Serve as the primary connection between the Leeds advancement team and the Leeds dean's team around donor meetings, communications and events.
- Conduct preliminary research on prospective donors and assist in identifying, cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding donors through research of available databases.
- Update donor database with notes, strategic plans, contact reports, and tasks to ensure the most current and relevant information is available. Share information with other team members.
- Receives and responds to donor/constituent inquiries, facilitates meeting scheduling with Dean of the Leeds School and the Assistant Dean.
- Prepare comprehensive briefing reports to be used for cultivation and solicitation meetings.
- Build marketing and stewardship collateral for key donor engagements as requested.
- Hire/manage 8-14 student assistants for the Leeds advancement team.
- Answer inbound calls and inquiries; distribute/follow-up as necessary.
- Prepare purchase requisitions for various office needs; maintain office supply inventory.
- Serve as a liaison between the Leeds advancement team and various internal and external constituents. Research and gather information on various topics as necessary and expedite the flow of information to staff.
- Resolve IT/software related issues for the team.
- Assist with onboarding new employees and offboarding departing employees.
- Serve as a resource for newer development assistants in the unit and across the division.
- Proactively engage with the division's Administrative Team (A-Team) and attend scheduled meetings.
What You Should Know
- This role will occasionally require you to work evenings/weekends.
- This position has the ability to work a hybrid schedule with some days on campus and some days remote.
What We Can Offer
The salary range for this position is $63,000 - $70,000 annually. Relocation assistance may be available within Advancement guidelines.

What We Require
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience or combination of education and experience may substitute.
- 3+ years of professional, job-related experience.
