Job Description:
We seek a full-time Research Assistant Professor in Biostatistics in the Department of Psychology in the College of Arts and Sciences to support research projects, grant applications, and affiliated investigators within the Center for Health Behavior Research & Innovation. This position offers an exceptional opportunity to collaborate on innovative translational health behavior research, contributing to projects that span from human laboratory experimental studies to the development, testing, and implementation of novel interventions.The Center for Health Behavior Research & Innovation at Syracuse University unites affiliated investigators to examine a variety of health behavior themes, such as risk and protective factors associated with substance use, physical activity, diet, sex, and sleep, often in relation to chronic health conditions. This research also often focuses on populations experiencing disproportionate burdens, including racial/ethnic and sexual/gender minorities, individuals with mental and physical health challenges, veterans and active-duty military service members, and individuals from rural and low-income communities.More information about the Department of Psychology and the College of Arts and Sciences may be found at https://artsandsciences.syracuse.edu/psychology.

Qualifications:
Ph.D. in biostatistics, statistics, or other relevant fields with a strong concentration in statistical analysis will be considered.

Job Specific Qualifications:
Successful candidates will have demonstrated expertise in statistical design and data analysis, as well as proficiency in statistical software (e.g., R, SAS, Stata, SPSS). While all areas of expertise will be considered, the Center for Health Behavior Research & Innovation is especially interested in applicants with experience pertaining to causal, multilevel, and mixed-effects models; randomized controlled trials; generalized linear models; longitudinal, survival, and time-to-event analysis; and secondary analysis of existing datasets.

Responsibilities:
The successful candidate will be expected to demonstrate a commitment to excellence in the area of statistical design and data analysis. Primary responsibilities include collaborating with affiliated investigators on grant proposals, manuscripts, presentations, and other deliverables, providing expertise in study design, data analysis, result interpretation, and data visualization. Candidates will also be expected to advise and guide investigators on statistical methodologies, contributing to process development that aligns with project goals. In addition to collaborative work, this position entails identifying funding opportunities, publishing research findings, and presenting at academic conferences.
