Location
Our Kennesaw campus is located at 1000 Chastain Road NW, Kennesaw, GA 30144. Our Marietta campus is located at 1100 South Marietta Parkway, Marietta, GA 30060.
Department Information
The Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering has more than 775 students and 18 full-time faculty members. The faculty are committed to growing a program that is nationally recognized for providing outstanding and hands-on education to aspiring civil and environmental engineers, as well as peer-reviewed research with relevance. Scholarship in the department includes both industry- and government-funded research projects focused on the practical application of engineering principles.

Job Summary
Kennesaw State University is now accepting applications for a pool of open rank, part-time faculty positions in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering for the academic year 2024 - 2025 . These positions are on an as needed basis. Rank is determined at the time of hiring and will be commensurate with experience. This position is for work to be performed in the state of Georgia.
Teaching needs in CEE are in variety of sub-areas depending on the needs of the department. CEE courses are grounded in theory while having strong project and "hands on" components. We are constantly striving to provide our students with realistic and practical problem-solving skills.
Responsibilities
- Teaching one or more courses and/or laboratories in basic engineering mechanics, including Statics, or Strength of Materials, Fluid Mechanics, and other upper-level Civil Engineering Courses such as Engineering Problem Solving, Civil Engineering Graphics, Structural Analysis and Design, Hydrology, Environmental Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, and Transportation and Highway Design among others.
Teaching assignments will be based on earned degrees and SACSCOC Faculty Credentials Guidelines.
Required Qualifications
- A minimum of a Master's degree, or the foreign equivalent, in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering or a closely related discipline is required.
OR - A minimum of a Master's degree, or the foreign equivalent, in a non-related discipline with 18 graduate credit hours in the teaching discipline is required.
Preferred Qualifications
- A PE license
- College level teaching experience
- Experience with online teaching platforms
