Job Description:
The ITS Budget Manager plays a key role in managing the financial aspects of the Information Technology Services, ensuring accurate reporting, effective resource allocation, and compliance with university policies. The position will assist the Senior Director of Budget and Administration in business operations, financial reporting, and oversight of financial and HR transactions. The ideal candidate requires the ability to exercise independent judgment in evaluating needs and solutions for streamlining day-to-day operational needs in ITS. The Budget Manager provides guidance and support to the ITS administrative team.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelors degree required.
  • Five (5+) plus years with budgeting and forecasting financials, preferably in higher education setting required.


Job Specific Qualifications:
  • Experience with Excel.
  • Ability to analyze, interpret and communicate a variety of financial information to individuals at all levels.
  • Ability to exercise good judgment and discretion regarding sensitive and confidential information.
  • Must be organized and able to multi-task.


Responsibilities:
  • Develop and oversee the annual budget for Information Technology Services, collaborating with department leaders and the Senior Director of Administration to understand program-specific financial needs and priorities.
  • Conduct regular budget reviews and provide insightful financial analysis to assist in decision-making.
  • Generate and present monthly departmental reports for review by the CIO and Senior Director; and quarterly reports to the ITS Associate Chief Information Officers (ACIOs), Directors, and Managers, highlighting program-specific budget variances, trends, and potential areas for cost optimization.
  • Review, reconcile and approve orders and transaction for ITS.
  • Advise and assist administrative staff on budget processes.
  • Assist with Human Resource system processes for division personnel.
  • Keep searches on task serving as primary contact between hiring manager and talent acquisition team.
  • Oversee employee on-boarding and off-boarding to maintain accurate/complete record of personnel transactions.
  • Exercise independent judgment in evaluating needs and solutions for streamlining day-to-day operational needs in ITS.
  • Provide guidance and support to the ITS administrative team.
  • Other duties as assigned.
