Minimum Qualifications:
1) An earned doctorate (Ph.D.) in a public health field from an accredited institution (or equivalent) is required; however, applicants nearing completion of the doctorate (ABD) may be considered. For appointment, the doctorate must be completed by the date of appointment (8/19/2019).
2) Demonstrated experience teaching courses in one or more of the following areas: community health, environmental health, health services/policy, or epidemiology/ biostatistics.
Preferred Qualifications:
1) Evidence of successful teaching experience at the undergraduate and/or graduate level.
2) Demonstrated research focus on the health and healthcare of diverse, urban populations.
3) Documented experience with community engagement or service learning.
4) Evidence of MCHES and/or CPH certification.
Duties:
The primary professional responsibilities of instructional faculty members are: teaching, research, scholarship and/or creative activity, and service to the University, profession and to the community. These responsibilities generally include: advising students, participation in campus and system-wide committees, maintaining office hours, working collaboratively and productively with colleagues, and participation in traditional academic functions.

To this end, the successful candidate will work effectively, respectfully, and collaboratively in diverse, multicultural, and inclusive settings. Salary:

The Rongxiang Xu College of Health and Human Services includes schools of Nursing, Social Work, Kinesiology and Nutrition, and departments of Public Health, Communication Disorders, Criminal Justice and Criminalistics, and Child and Family Studies. The schools and departments offer a wide variety of specialized courses including courses in audiology, child, development, community health, community leadership, criminal justice, criminalistics, environmental health, exercise and human performance, food science and technology, forensic mental health, nursing, nutritional science, parenting, physical education, rehabilitation and therapeutic exercise, social work and speech-language pathology
The Department:
The Department of Public Health has over 800 majors. It offers a Bachelor's degree in Public Health. As of Fall 2019 it will offer two options; community health and health communication. The Department also offers an MPH in Urban Public Health.
