Position Description
Performs complex work computing, classifying, recording, and verifying numerical data for use in maintaining accounting records. May supervise subordinate employees.

Major/Essential Functions

Manage, process, and reconcile vendor payments. Including but not limited to monitoring discount opportunities, and verifying payments comply with Federal, State, and University laws and policies. Monitor payments to ensure they comply with contract terms and conditions, work with departments to research and resolve issues and payment discrepancies, monitor for potential fraud, manage credit memos, and issue stop payments as needed.
Review and audit payments regularly and ensure that communication and documentation meet current audit, retention, and industry standards.
Provide first-class customer service across all forms of communication and consistently review processes to ensure they meet or exceed industry standards.
Participate in automation process improvements and the testing of various systems including but not limited to TechBuy (Jaggaer), Banner (Ellucian), USAS (State of Texas Accounting System), Single Use Account (SUA), and Foreign Wires.
Obtain and maintain the Certified Accounts Payable Associate (CAPA) certification as well as others as they may be required.

Required Qualifications
Completion of high school or the equivalent with four years progressively responsible experience. May require a typing proficiency of 60 words per minute. Additional education may substitute for required experience on a year for year basis.

Preferred Qualifications

Knowledge of Jaggaer, Banner, or other payment software.
Accounts payable industry knowledge or experience.
Bachelor's or higher degree in Accounting, Finance, Personal Financial Planning, or General Business.
