What Your Key Responsibilities Will Be

  • The Professional Research Assistant will hold two primary areas of responsibility:
    • The first encompasses independent and collaborative research projects within the lab, contributing to ongoing investigations in chromatin biology and gene regulation.
      • This includes executing experimental plans, analyzing data, and presenting findings to the team.
    • The second encompasses shared general lab operations, which are a critical and expected component of this role.
      • These shared duties include maintaining lab organization, ordering supplies, managing lab equipment, and supporting the day-to-day smooth running of the laboratory environment. Specific responsibilities include: conducting molecular biology experiments (cloning, gene expression, protein purification); maintaining cell culture lines as needed; participating in lab meetings and journal clubs; collaborating with all lab members in a respectful, constructive, and inclusive manner; maintaining meticulous laboratory notebooks and records; adhering to professional working hours (9 AM - 5 PM, Monday through Friday); contributing to shared lab duties on a rotating schedule; and assisting in mentoring newer lab members as experience grows.
