This role is responsible for contributing to the planning and execution of impactful donor and alumni engagement and stewardship efforts for the Alumni Association. This position is critical to the engagement efforts and joins a team that focuses on donor relations, alumni engagement, events, some marketing communications activities, budget management, and interacting with the Forever Buffs Advisory Board.Under the guidance of the Senior Program Manager, Forever Buffs Engagement & Outreach this position is tasked with supporting the programmatic planning and execution that achieves the unit's goals in stewarding donors, engaging alumni and other constituents, promoting the reputation of the Alumni Association, and increasing overall philanthropic support for CU Boulder.CU Boulder Advancement is committed to a culture of joy, motivated by collaboration, passionate about excellence and driven by impact. What Your Key Responsibilities Will Be
Programmatic Oversight/Task Execution/Tactical Work
- Under the guidance of the Senior Program Manager, Forever Buffs Engagement & Outreach lead planning and execution of signature donor and alumni engagement programs and events; work towards exercising autonomy in these areas. These signature events will include but are not limited to athletic pre-game activities, Homecoming and Alumni weekend events, Forever Buffs Advisory board meetings and the Roaming Buffs travel launch event. Implement and support the tactical implementation of the Alumni Association engagement and outreach activities as specified.
- Manage program budgets, including forecasting, tracking expenditures, and ensuring funds are allocated and used in alignment with organizational priorities and fiscal policies.
- In partnership with the Senior Program Manager, Forever Buffs Engagement and Outreach and team members, review the effectiveness of programs and make suggestions for modifications and improvements.
- Review event, engagement and marketing communications materials, including but not limited to invitation/list generation, audience segmentation, special handling, registration, event communications, and post-engagement surveys.
- Complete inventory and asset management for event marketing materials, giveaway inventory and fleet of large event marketing props. Be responsible for a comprehensive inventory management plan to ensure giveaway items are stocked and explore new items to add.
- Serve as the event manager for the ForeverGold signature events. Based on the vision and strategy set forth by the Director, you will be responsible for the conceptualization, design, attendee management (list generation & registration), marketing & communications support, execution, and program management, including possible sourcing and management of student and professional volunteers, from pre-event to post. Lead alumni engagement follow-up and stewardship processes which may include writing follow-up communications and surveys, inputting and ensuring accuracy of contact reports, and ensuring alumni are classified in correct categories for further communication activities.
- Support the CU System significant events as the CU Boulder liaison which includes managing the marketing for the events. Events include CU Night at Zoo Lights, CU Night at the Stock Show and CU Night at the Rockies.
- Manage game day ticket allocations for ForeverGold games, home/away game football and basketball ticket allocation.
- Complete detailed project briefs for all initiatives within position purview, outlining scope, objectives, timelines, and required resources to ensure clarity, alignment, and successful project execution.
- Assist with engagement data management and EID reporting, ensuring accurate tracking and timely updates.
- Serve as a partner to campus entities such as athletics and others as needed and provide consistent flow of information regarding the team's alumni engagement efforts.
- Engage development officers to enhance participation in donor relations and alumni engagement events and programs. Conduct regular online research and benchmarking to ensure events and programs are effective in achieving established goals.
- Partner with campus partners to engage, steward and manage important donors, volunteers and allies to the Alumni Association
- Meet annual contact metrics.
- Represents Alumni Association at alumni engagement roundtable meetings and other campus meetings.
- Works to support the greater alumni and advancement teams to implement strategic priorities and achieve goals.
- Assists with other duties as needed.
What You Should Know
- This position may require local, regional, and out-of-state travel to engage with university constituents.
- This position has the ability to work a hybrid schedule with some days on campus and some days remote.
- This position will occasionally be required to work evenings/weekends.
What We Can Offer
The salary range is $68,000 - $78,000 annually. Relocation assistance is available within Advancement guidelines.

What We Require
- Education: Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience or a combination of education and experience may substitute for the degree on a year for year basis.
- Experience: 1+ years of professional, job-related experience.
