The Division of Continuing Education at the University of Colorado, Boulder is seeking a CSPB Program Manager and Student Advising Professional! This position provides quality, innovative, lifelong learning opportunities for a diverse student population by extending the educational resources of the university to the Boulder community, the state of Colorado, and beyond. This role is a full-time, exempt position reporting to an assistant director of Continuing Education's Program Strategy & Operations Group (PSOG).

The Post-Baccalaureate Computer Science Program (CSPB) is a specialized program offered through the College of Engineering & Applied Science and administered through the Division of Continuing Education. The CSPB program is offered fully online and supports students wishing to pursue a second bachelor's degree in Applied Computer Science. Students in the program are highly-motivated, working professionals, and require specialized, proactive support in order to be successful.

The CSPB Program Manager and Student Advising Professional maintains responsibility for managing and improving the day-to-day operations of the Post Baccalaureate Computer Science Program to include providing information and resource navigation for students, faculty, customers, and colleagues; program data research, analysis, and reporting; comprehensive administrative support; program strategy, development, implementation, and review; and proactive student support and engagement. This position serves as the primary point of contact for students in the program, with an emphasis on building productive relationships and providing timely communications to support them in meeting their academic and career goals. The role works closely with other members of the program support team, including the Faculty Director, recruitment/admissions specialist, and other support staff within Continuing Education.

What Your Key Responsibilities Will Be


Student Support and Advising
  • Provide individual support to CSPB students via scheduled virtual appointments (Zoom, phone and email) in a proactive manner with a broad approach to offering academic advising and coaching to students. Maintain contact logs in the CRM system.
  • Communicate degree requirements and options in a clear, accurate, non-jargoned manner through proactive outreach. Certify student degrees upon completion.
  • Assist students in formulating their educational goals and taking necessary steps to achieve those goals - and create a degree plan which meets the individual needs of each student.
  • Advise program/s and the students on procedures and policies regarding registration, financial aid, payments, etc.
  • Create a sense of belonging, community, and support for a fully remote population of students through onboarding meetings, regular proactive communication, engagement on the program's LinkedIn account, and additional community-building activities.
  • Connect students to resources and support services available to them, including CEAS Career Services, tutoring services, remote mental health services, Veteran and Military Affairs, Disability Services, Financial Aid, etc.
  • Onboard new students to the CSPB program and manage and coordinate the virtual orientation each semester
  • Maintain knowledge of all CU Boulder and College of Engineering and campus policies in order to serve as a guide to students (to include, but not limited to, CSPB program policies, academic standing policies, admission/readmission policies, transfer credit policies, etc.).

Program Management/Program Administration
  • Collaborate with Assistant Directors (PSOG), Marketing, Faculty Director/s, and other collaborators to contribute to the creation of effective marketing materials, website content, digital campaigns, and communication platforms to help manage communications with prospective and current students.
  • Work closely with the CSPB Faculty Director, Assistant Directors, and CSPB Admissions and Enrollment Specialist to create a seamless student experience throughout the student lifecycle.
  • Assist the Admissions and Recruitment Specialist and Faculty Director with review of applications to the CSPB Program as needed.
  • Participate in CSPB staff meetings, online orientation, virtual info-sessions for prospective students, and other events as needed.
  • Collaborate with CE Records, Enrollment Services, and Accounting offices as changes to courses or the program arise and to ensure that application, billing, and enrollment issues are anticipated and addressed.
  • Coordinate and advise with the faculty director around course scheduling, student/program needs and alignment with program goals. Provide support to the faculty with scheduling/coordinating course revision process.
  • Coordinate with CE Extraordinary program staff to ensure that course sections are created and set up by semester deadlines.
  • Coordinate graduation activities, in coordination with the academic department.
  • Maintain and provide critical data - e.g., retention rates, graduation rates, student demographics, FCQ summaries, etc. - to Assistant Directors for the purposes of reporting and data analysis.

Program Mission/Strategy
  • Guide the strategy of the Post Baccalaureate Computer Science Program and how it fits within the goals and needs of the Division, main campus, and online marketplace.
  • Develop, maintain, and achieve strategic goals for the program that enhance enrollments, fiscal performance, program reputation, and student success.

Program Policies and Procedures
  • Coordinate the efforts of various constituents to determine the best policies and procedures for assigned program/s.
  • Ensure that policies and procedures align with the main campus, College of Engineering, and the Division, and that they promote equity across departments, programs and students.
  • Develop strategies for improvements and implement changes.
  • Ensure compliance with campus, CDHE, and accreditation guidelines.

Professional Development and Unit Support Responsibilities
  • Participate in Division and University-wide committee work and attend regular staff meetings.
  • Engage in regular and ongoing professional development.


What You Should Know

  • The work schedule for this position is typically, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM, with occasional irregular hours.
  • The position offers a hybrid work schedule with 2-3 days on-campus each week.


What We Can Offer


The annual salary range for this full-time position is $70,000 - $76,954.

Relocation assistance may be available per divisional guidelines.

What We Require

  • Bachelor's degree + 3 years of professional experience in an academic advising,
  • Program management or related position.
  • Professional experience in Computer Science and related fields may substitute for professional higher education experience.
