The Division of Humanities and Learning Communities is looking to hire an Adjunct Faculty member to teach English classes. Primary responsibilities include:

Provide instruction to students in both the theory and practice of English.
Incorporate a variety of teaching methods and materials to assist students with differing educational experiences, experiential backgrounds, and learning styles in meeting course competencies.
Evaluates students' progress towards stated course competencies and informs them of their progress in a timely manner.

Job Requirements:

Master's degree or Ph.D. in English or related field
Experience teaching various levels and sections of ENG-111 ( College Writing I) and ENG-112 ( College Writing II)
Experience with high-impact teaching and learning practices (examples: undergraduate research, community engagement,critical pedagogies, learning communities)
Proven ability to work with a diverse faculty, staff, and student population
Ability to teach courses on campus in an in-person setting at BHCC's Charlestown and Chelsea campuses, as well as in a remote setting

Preferred Requirements:

Community college teaching experience preferred.
Availability to teach Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays.
Our students come from diverse cultural, linguistic, and socioeconomic backgrounds, and we are committed to providing the support they need to succeed. While not required, the ability to read, speak, and write in Spanish or another language is preferred.

QUALIFIED CANDIDATES WILL BE INVITED TO ATTEND THE ADJUNCT ACADEMY PRIOR TO BEING ASSIGNED COURSES.

Additional Information:

Salary: $1,140.00 per credit hour.
