Job Summary
This is a hands-on culinary working position that provides oversight and leadership in the University of Colorado Athletic Dining Facility. Under the supervision of the Executive and Sous Chefs, prepares, assigns and delegates standardized recipe preparation, ensuring quality, allergen and food safety standards. This position offers exceptional customer service in a collaborative and supported environment.
This position is responsible for promoting the philosophy and objectives of the intercollegiate athletics program. This shall include adhering to the principles of the Athletic Department's Mission Statement, Diversity and Inclusion Mission Statement, Core Values, Policies and Procedures, as well as the rules and regulations of the University, the Conference and the NCAA.

What Your Key Responsibilities Will Be
Kitchen Preparation & Operation:
- Prep, assemble and delegate food preparation tasks
- Assist with the set-up and breakdown of production and service areas
- Understand and use a variety of equipment and service standards as appropriate
- Follow and enforce set food safety protocol
- Ensure cleanliness and quality in all areas of the kitchen
Quality Assurance:
- Follow all food safety and allergen standards
- Full comprehension of allergen labeling protocols including avoidance of cross-contact, requesting labels and recognizing errors.
Customer Service:
- Provide excellent customer service and assist with customer needs and inquiries.
- Lead by example both in general work ethic and positive, productive demeanor.
- Display and demonstrate excellent communication skills.
What You Should Know
The anticipated schedule is 11:00AM - 8:00PM, weekends and nights as needed. Operations are fluid based on the needs of teams. We plan to discuss this further in the interview process.
What We Can Offer
- The starting salary range for this position is $41,844 - $43,846 annually

What We Require
- Three years of work experience in food service industry (equivalent combination of education and experience may substitute)
- ServSafe certified within 6 months of start date
- Ability to work nights and weekends, and ability to be flexible in scheduling per operational needs
What You Will Need
- Knowledgeable of food safety and allergens protocols
- Ability to follow recipes and food preparation instructions
- Ability to handle a variety of kitchen equipment to prepare food
- Ability to work in a high volume, high pressure kitchen
- Ability to teach and maintain safe food handling practices.
- Excellent customer service skills
