At Utah Valley University, the Senior Director of Admissions plays a vital role in shaping the future of the institution by leading strategic recruitment and admissions efforts that support student success and institutional growth. This position offers the opportunity to design and implement innovative recruitment strategies, oversee a seamless and accessible admissions process, and ensure prospective students experience a welcoming and supportive journey from first contact to enrollment.
Working closely with colleagues across campus, the Senior Director will guide the use of technology, including the recruitment CRM, to optimize communication and outreach. They will also ensure compliance with federal and state regulations while fostering strong partnerships with academic and administrative departments. This role is ideal for a dynamic leader who is passionate about advancing higher education access, building collaborative teams, and driving initiatives that align with UVU's mission to provide an inclusive and student-centered education.
Summary of Responsibilities
- Leads the development and execution of a comprehensive admissions strategy that supports UVU's enrollment objectives and addresses regional, national, and global trends in higher education. Analyzes data and market intelligence to identify opportunities, challenges, and gaps in recruitment and adjust strategies accordingly. Ensures compliance with Federal and State laws, including regulations related to visas, residency, and international student admissions. Provides strategic recommendations to UVU's executive leadership team regarding recruitment and admissions priorities, policies, and emerging opportunities.
- Partner with Marketing and Communications to develop and implement strategic recruitment campaigns that effectively convey UVU's brand and value proposition. Work closely with Financial Aid, Academic Affairs, and Student Services to ensure admissions efforts align with academic offerings, student support initiatives, and financial aid policies. Foster collaborative partnerships with university leadership and departments to address challenges and enhance the admissions pipeline experience. Represent the Office of Admissions in cross-departmental initiatives, task forces, and strategic planning efforts.
- Oversee the management and optimization of technology platforms, including the CRM, student information systems, and related tools to support efficient and effective admissions processes. Direct data-driven decision-making by leveraging analytics to monitor performance metrics, assess outcomes, and forecast trends. Ensure smooth integration of systems with other university departments to provide a seamless experience for applicants and staff. Establish and monitor operational policies, procedures, and best practices to ensure consistency, efficiency, and compliance.
- Build, lead, and mentor a high-performing admissions team, fostering a culture of innovation, accountability, and continuous improvement. Establish clear goals and performance metrics for staff, ensuring alignment with institutional objectives. Design and oversee professional development programs for staff to enhance skills, knowledge, and career growth. Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide constructive feedback to support employee success.
- Serve as the primary representative of the Office of Admissions at institutional, regional, and national meetings, events, and conferences. Build relationships with external stakeholders, including high schools, community organizations, and other educational partners, to enhance recruitment efforts. Advocate for the needs and priorities of prospective students and the admissions team within the broader institutional context.

Qualifications / Licenses / Certifications
Graduation from an accredited institution with a master's degree in a directly related field, plus four years of experience related to the Summary of Duties of the position; OR a Bachelor's degree in a directly related field, plus six years related to the Summary of Duties of the position; OR any combination of higher education and/or experience totaling ten years.

- Admissions Processes: In-depth understanding of the admission recruitment cycles, including marketing, strategy, outreach, communication, and building connections.
- Educational Systems: Familiarity with secondary and post-secondary education systems, including high school and college curricula.
- Regulatory Compliance: Knowledge of relevant laws and regulations affecting admissions, such as FERPA and other privacy laws.
- Marketing and Recruitment: Understanding of marketing principles and recruitment strategies to attract prospective students.
