The Staff Therapist and Outreach Coordinator will provide intake and clinical assessment, and individual, couples, and group psychotherapy to our diverse College of Lake County student population. In addition, the Staff Therapist and Outreach Coordinator will provide clinical consultation and crisis intervention on an as-needed basis. This candidate will refer students to community resources for longer-term treatment and collaborate with ongoing treatment providers for continuity of care. The successful applicant will demonstrate personal andprofessional commitment to multicultural competence and inclusion, in all aspects of the position. Although this position is administratively
supervised, the Staff Therapist and Prevention Specialist will possess highly effective problem-solving skills and the ability to exercise discretion and good judgment in making independent decisions. The successful applicant will participate in departmental efforts to evaluate and continuously improve the provision of services.
Additionally, the successful incumbent will coordinate, design and implement psychoeducational programs and provide consultation to the campus community. CAPS expects to expand its psychoeducational offerings to the campus community, and the Staff Therapist and Outreach Coordinator will take the administrative lead on this area of service for the department. It is expected that the Staff Therapist and Outreach Coordinator will be involved in College-level endeavors such as committees and task forces, as well as serve as a liaison to other campus departments.

Operations and Case Management: 45%
- Provide short-term counseling and psychotherapy for CLC students and make appropriate referrals for students in need of more intensive mental health support.
- Provide group counseling for CLC students, through general therapy group or group that focuses on a specific clinical issue.
- Provide outreach and prevention services that address the needs of CLC students.
- Interact effectively with persons of diverse socio-economic, racial, ethnic, international, sexual, and gender identities; and commitment to multiculturalism and serving underrepresented populations. Participate in on-call system and response to student crises during hours of college operation.
- Provide case management that include daily appointments with students, assessing students for mental health support needs, developing a structured and formal referral process for long-term treatment and/or collaborate with ongoing treatment providers.
- Maintain up to date clinical files following ethical guidelines for the profession.
- Maintain confidentiality of students' treatment records and ensure compliance with ACA / NASW / APA Ethical Principles and Code of Conduct, and legal requirements regarding mandated reporting.
- Provide training and consultation services to CLC staff and faculty. Supervise student interns.
Strategic Leadership and Project Management: 45%
- Assume leadership role in planning, developing, implementing, and evaluating
- outreach services including mental health events, trainings, presentations, and other campus initiatives, including management of external requests. Identify priorities, plans, and continuous improvement opportunities for outreach services and procedures.
- Develop/participate in working relationships with other departments and community partners that share an interest in student wellness and personal
- development.
- Maintain outreach data and reports in alignment with the vision and goals of CAPS department. Coordinate marketing and promotion of outreach events, including virtual and printed media.
Personnel Management 5%
- Facilitate and oversee Peer Support Program (student workers) centered on suicide prevention, mental health awareness, and resources.
- Assist in the oversight and supervision of the administrative assistant and part-time flex position within the CAPS Department
Other: 5%
- Participate on strategic and/or functional cross-departmental teams, committees and councils at the request of the division or unit leaders.
- Participate in professional associations/organizations and educational activities that enhance subject matter expertise and leadership competencies, knowledge, understanding and interpersonal skills.
- Remain knowledgeable of current state and federal laws, regulations, and best practices in the field of appointment ensuring the College's policies, procedures, practices and programs conform to laws and regulations and align with the mission, vision, values and strategic goals of the College.
- Maintain institutional membership in the Association for University and College
- Counseling Center Outreach (AUCCCO) and AUCCCO listserv.
- Perform any and all other duties assigned that support the mission, vision, values and strategic initiatives of College of Lake County and goals of the department, division and unit of appointment.
Required Qualifications:
Master's degree in counseling, clinical psychology, or social work and licensure as a LCPC (Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor) or LCSW (Licensed Clinical Social Worker) in the state of IL at the time of hire
Minimum of one (1) year experience in providing therapy in a mental health setting
Ability to work flexible hours including some evening hours consistent with student needs when necessary
A high level of interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to write and present educational programs
Demonstrated strong personal integrity, ability to form effective partnerships, ability to collaborate with others and work in a team environment consistent with the College of Lake County values.

Desired Qualifications:
Experience providing clinical services to a college population
Experience providing clinical supervision
Bilingual (English with Spanish, Polish and/or Russian preferred)
Experience working with an electronic records system (e.g., Titanium)
Schedule: Core hours are Monday - Friday, 8:30 am - 5:00 pm. Hours may vary in accordance with the needs of the college.
Compensation: $74,000/year. This role has a set salary and is not subject to negotiation.
