Georgetown University in Qatar (GU-Q) invites applications for two open-rank teaching faculty positions in Instructional Arabic.
The successful candidate will hold an M.A. or Ph.D. in language instruction, linguistics, or applied linguistics. Successful candidates will demonstrate excellence in teaching Arabic at all levels, including experience working with heritage language learners. They will also have a record of effective instruction in skill-based courses (e.g., Business Arabic, Academic Writing) and in leading co-curricular and experiential learning activities that support Arabic language development.
Academic Environment and Faculty Support

Teaching Faculty teach three courses (or 9 credit hours) per semester (a 3-3 load), supported by best-in-class instructional infrastructure. Applicants should provide a cover letter detailing teaching and research interests, curriculum vitae, a statement of teaching philosophy (no more than 500 words), evidence of teaching excellence (such as recent student course ratings, peer observation reports, etc.), and the names of three scholarly references.
