Who We Are

The Holewinski lab group seeks a postdoctoral researcher with experience in organic chemistry, polymer synthesis and characterization, analytical chemistry and/or electrochemistry. A successful candidate must be flexible to ensure meeting deliverables for a fast-paced, deadline-oriented project.

What Your Key Responsibilities Will Be

Synthesis of novel polymer materials from biomass-derived monomers.
Characterization methods including but not limited to NMR, HPLC, GPC, rheology, TGA, DSC, Raman and IR spectroscopy
Materials engineering of co-polymers to meet application needs
Chemical process development integrating electrochemical transformations of raw feedstocks with purification and secondary monomer conversion steps
Supervision, training, and mentoring of student research personnel
Development of new, synergistic research directions
General laboratory maintenance, safety, and procurement tasks.
Exhibiting a strong commitment to rigorous and detailed hypothesis-driven investigation

What We Require

PhD in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Materials Science Engineering, or closely related field.
