Job Summary:
The University of Colorado, School of Medicine, Addiction Research and Treatment Services (ARTS) is seeking a full-time Case Specialist for the Inspiration for Men program. Inspiration for Men provides residential substance use treatment services to men. Inspiration for Men provides up to 90-day residential stays for men with severe substance use and co-occurring mental health disorders. The program provides drug and alcohol assessment, psychosocial and pharmacological treatment, psychiatric services, and medication management.
This is a full-time University Staff (non-classified) position that is responsible for providing support to clients and staff by doing case-specific needs assessments and connecting them with on- and off-campus resources. The Case Specialist is part of the residential team and supports the clinical counselors, as well as collaborates with the peer recovery specialist team in providing support for adult males residing in the Inspiration for Men program. This position will implement strength-based case management services for clients at Inspiration for Men. The Case Specialist will draw on a network of established, long-term relationships with ARTS; community, and agency partners, build relationships with and educate new community agencies on the needs of Inspiration for Men clients. This position also works to assist clients with attending appointments in the community, provides positive support to clients in residence, and provides support and resources to clients who are transitioning to aftercare programming. The Case Specialist provides activities to engage, educate, and offer support to clients in the residential program and perform other duties as assigned or required. This position will work on-site at the Inspiration for Men program which is located on the Ft. Logan campus in southwest Denver.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct needs assessment for clients to identify needed community resources.
- Assist clients in the treatment engagement and retention process by intervening when necessary to prevent drop-out and early termination from treatment.
- Assist clients with skill building, goal setting, and mentoring, promoting meaningful engagement in society, and engaging in pro-social activities.
- Advocate for, establish linkages, and empower clients to connect with permanent housing, education, financial assistance, parenting education, grief/loss counselors, community mutual self-help groups, mental health service providers, and employers in the community.
- Document all case management activities.
- Attend all clinical team meetings to become familiar with client cases.
- Collaborate and coordinate with the Clinical team and Peer Specialists to provide the most thorough and effective support possible.
- Help clients practice emotion regulation skills, basic assertiveness, and other interpersonal skills to be able to improve accessibility of resources.
- Communicate with clients to ensure services and resources have been established and needs have been met.
- Other duties as assigned.
Work Location:
Onsite - this role is expected to work onsite and is located in Fort Logan, CO.

Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or General Education Diploma (GED).
- One (1) year of experience working in a behavioral health setting.
Applicants must meet minimum qualifications at the time of hire.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in human services, psychology, social work, counseling, criminal justice, or a related field.
- Experience working in a substance use treatment environment.
- Experience working in a case management role.
Conditions of Employment:
- Must possess and maintain a valid State of Colorado Driver's License or be able to obtain one within 30 days of hire.
- Must agree to fingerprinting and criminal background checks. Required background checks include a review with the Colorado Bureau of Investigation (CBI) and the Central Registry of Child Protection (Trails).

- In-depth knowledge of community health, mental health, and legal resources, and services, in addition to basic knowledge about health and mental health care coverages, and services that work with those insurance plans.
- Ability to develop appropriate therapeutic relationships with clients.
- Ability to develop healthy relationships and boundaries with clients.
- Strong organizational skills, including an ability to manage multiple tasks.

Anticipated Pay Range:
The starting salary range (or hiring range) for this position has been established as
$42,948 - $49,826.
The above salary range (or hiring range) represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. This position may be eligible for overtime compensation, depending on the level.
