Reporting to the Director of the International Center, the Admissions Coordinator for International Student Admissions supports the Center's efforts to recruit, admit, and retain qualified international applicants, with a specific emphasis on creating a welcoming and supportive environment for applicants and their families.

This position will assist with day-to-day international admissions workflow and operations; will partake in local and out-of-state recruitment events, both in person and virtually; will maintain relationships with applicants, their families, and representatives; and will execute recruitment strategies. As Coordinator, a primary responsibility is to address prospective and new student concerns, in direct alignment with the College's goal, to continually provide student-centered approaches, resources, and services. The incumbent will support campus-wide recruitment efforts in collaboration with various departments and teams across the institution.

Specific Duties:

• Review International applications and supporting documentation for all applicants.

• Serve as an international admissions representative for BHCC recruiting for all of BHCC programs and certificates, with particular attention to the needs of international applicants.

• Collaborate with the BHCC Admissions and Recruitment team and provide appropriate technological solutions to improve efficiency and accuracy across departments.

• Postpone or Activate international student applications in Colleague as needed.

• Monitor applicants' progress, by receiving, reviewing and processing all applicant supporting documents, while outreaching and communicating with prospective students and inquiries about the application process and next steps to apply.

• Help to strengthen re-applications by providing counseling for unsuccessful (visa) applicants.

• Assist admitted students with the enrollment process.

• Carry out and monitor office and College policies and procedures as they relate to admissions and enrollment.

• Ensure the currency and accuracy of information on BHCC's Website and in print materials, by monitoring and maintaining information for updates. Communicate updates as needed to the Director.

• Use available technology, such as TargetX by Salesforce, and Colleague for data collection, analysis, and outreach for the recruitment and admission of International students.

• Write, review, and assist with management of communication plans for the International admissions application in collaboration with the Manager of Enrollment Technology & Data Analytics.

• Review and update acceptance letters for all international students in collaboration with the Director of the International Center.

• Review, process, and enter GPA/GPA Waivers for international students.

• Review admissions and enrollment data and propose follow-up strategies to enhance enrollment and retention.

• Assist the Director in the implementation of the Strategic Enrollment Management (SEM) and Recruitment Plans applicable to international students.

• Assist in development of an inclusive and comprehensive international outreach program.

• Assist with recruitment activities, both on and off-campus, provide information on college opportunities and admission policies and procedures; and collaborate with the Admissions and Recruitment Department to align recruitment activities.

• Represent the Center on College committees and task forces, and within the larger community.

• Ensure that the delivery of customer service is student-centered and consistent within the office.

• Issue admission documents to admitted students and ensure their timely delivery.

• Supervise work study students or any temporary support staff assigned to the office.

• Other duties as assigned.


Job Requirements:

• Master's degree in Education, Counseling, Human Services, International Relations, or a closely related field with three years experience and/or training involving college admissions, transfer credit evaluation or academic counseling/advisement; or an equivalent combination of education, training and/or experience.

Preferred Requirements:

• Experience evaluating foreign educational credentials.

• Excellent public speaking, written, and verbal communication skills to support relationship building with prospective students and other constituents.

• Proven experience successfully managing processes with deadline dependent tasks.

• Demonstrated experience in understanding, interpreting, and enforcing policy and procedures.

• Ability to travel domestically and internationally.

• Knowledge of SIS systems such as Colleague, Banner and Peoplesoft.

• Knowledge of CRM systems such as TargetX (Salesforce).

• Knowledge of U.S. immigration system and SEVIS.

• Be proficient and have the capacity to utilize technology and software programs, including Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel, and Access, ImageNow), database administration, the Internet, and e-mail software packages.

• Ability to utilize new software, technologies, and social media platforms as needed.

• Excellent interpersonal skills, attention to detail, and the ability to multi-task in a busy environment.

• Demonstrated ability to work with a diverse faculty, staff, and student population.

• Our students come from a variety of cultural, linguistic, and socioeconomic backgrounds, and we are dedicated to providing them with the support they need to succeed. While not required, the ability to read, speak, and write in Spanish or another language such as Arabic, Cape Verdean Creole, Chinese, English, Haitian Creole, Portuguese, Somali, Spanish, Vietnamese, and French is preferred.

• Experience living or studying abroad.

• Community college experience.

• Leadership experience in a higher education setting, with experience in Admissions, preferably in the Massachusetts community college system.


Additional Information:

Salary Range: $77,358.00- 82,315.00 Actual Salary Will Be Commensurate With Education and Experience in Accordance with MCCC/MTA Collective Bargaining Agreement. Grade 6: Unit-Professional position. Full state Benefits.
