Job Summary:
We are currently seeking skilled and team-oriented applicants for the following position:

The Processing Coordinator plays a vital role in supporting the Admissions process at EWU. This position is responsible for coordinating various administrative tasks, including data entry, document management, and student support.

Under general direction, the Processing Coordinator efficiently supports the admissions application process:
  • securely creating, maintaining and destroying student files
  • imaging and digitizing application materials and documents
  • supporting the evaluation of academic credentials
  • generating letters, mailings, and bulk communications
The Processing Coordinator will also advise new and prospective students, staff, and faculty regarding programs and academic requirements. They will develop or assist with programmatic responsibilities including recruitment communications, student worker budget, and online prospective student services. Finally, the position has responsibility for leading and supervising hourly student workers who assist with functions and operations related to Admissions processing.

Youll succeed in this role if you have an eye for detail and optimizing processes, like to complete tasks and take pride in your time management skills, and are proactive in reaching out to others to provide updates on progress or to ask for help.

The salary for this position is $42,552 (minimum) up to $48,960. Where the hired candidate will begin within this range is dependent on education, experience, and skills. Required Qualifications:
High school graduation or equivalent AND two years experience in the program specialty which is defined as providing student services in higher education, such as advising, assisting with admissions processes, and/or other types of student services.

POSITION SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS:
Demonstrated experience with data entry and records management

Proficiency with office software (word processing, spreadsheets, databases)

Experience providing customer service in an office environment

Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information

Experience directing work of others

Candidate must demonstrate interest, ability and/or experience promoting cultural competency, universal accessibility and/or diversity.

Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in higher education admissions or registrars office

Knowledge of student information systems (SIS)

Experience with document imaging systems

Understanding of FERPA regulations

Experience with budget monitoring and tracking

Bilingual skills

Experience supervising student employees

Associates or bachelors degree in a related field

ADMISSIONS APPLICATION PROCESSING:Under general direction, coordinate admission application related data entry, file creation and destruction, document imaging, credentials evaluation support and mailings.* Input prospective student applicant data into the Banner student database with supporting documentation (transcripts, test scores, personal statements etc.), including application fees (E)
* Audit daily receipt of online applications (E)
* Download and prepare daily file of electronic transcripts for printing using batch programming and advanced macros (E)
* Input student confirmation / cancellation information (E)
* Input academic reinstatement approval and denial information (E)
* Make initial admission decisions for former students, high achieving freshmen and Washington State Community College transfer students based University policies
* Post transfer course work electronically in DARS, in support of the credentials evaluation process
* Coordinate creation and filing of student application files (E)

* Schedule and coordinate the periodic destruction of inactive student application files (E)
* Coordinate daily mailings to students using mail merge software and advanced macros (E)

ADVISING:Advise new and prospective students, staff, and faculty regarding programs and academic requirements* Advise prospective students of admission requirements such as College Academic Distribution Requirements (CADR) and/or community college requirements
* Inform new and prospective students on majors, programs, and special services using both printed materials and providing information on contact persons applicable to the students core areas of interest
* Assist students to assume responsibility for their own academic performance, educational planning, etc.

Conditions of Employment:
This position, during the course of university employment, will be involved in the receipt of, or accountability for, university funds or other items of value, as well as the unsupervised access with the developmentally disabled, vulnerable adults or children under the age of 16.
