Job Description
The Management and Entrepreneurship Department in the College of Business at Minnesota State University, Mankato, seeks qualified applicants for a full-time tenure-track faculty position to teach MIS and business analytics related courses.
- A typical faculty workload responsibility may include up to twenty four (24) credits of instruction per academic year.
- The successful candidate may need to teach in other areas as assigned and qualified.
- May be expected to develop and deliver face-to-face, hybrid, and on-line instruction at the Mankato campus, online, and/or at the
university's additional locations, as assigned. - The successful candidate will collaborate with colleagues in curriculum design, instruction and evaluation, conduct research
productively and mentor students in research, help create innovative strategies for student recruitment, retention, and
completion, and may be expected to develop external grant funding opportunities. - All faculty members are expected to engage in scholarly or creative activity or research, in continuing preparation and study, in
contributing to student growth and development, and in providing service to the university and
community (see Article 22 and Appendix G of the IFO Master Agreement). - This position will advise undergraduate majors.
- The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching undergraduate courses in MIS and related areas.
- The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching graduate courses in business analytics area.
Minimum Qualifications
- Demonstrated ability to serve a diverse population and apply an equity lens to this position including social justice and/or anti-racism.
- Doctorate or terminal degree in MIS with an emphasis in business analytics. (Doctoral/terminal degree should be completed by August 24, 2026.)
- Strong background in business analytics area including programming in python, Database management, SPSS, and data mining programming.

- Demonstrated commitment to fostering a diverse working and learning environment.
- Demonstrated effective written, oral communication and/or presentation skills.
- Experience teaching MIS courses at undergraduate level.
- Demonstrated preparation to teach, advise, and support a wide variety of students.
- Demonstrated excellence in teaching college or university-level classes.
- Demonstrated ability to teach using technology in the classroom and/or online course delivery.
- Demonstrated ability to use technology, develop, and deliver hybrid and online courses.
- Demonstrated commitment to continued professional development.
- Creative or scholarly interests that will advance the mission and goals of the Management & Entrepreneurship department at Minnesota State University, Mankato.
- Evidence of scholarly activity, including publications and/or professional presentations.

THE COLLEGE
The College of Business at Minnesota State University, Mankato, has been an accredited member of AACSB International -The Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business since 1997 and puts them in the top 5% of business schools worldwide. The College offers high-demand undergraduate programs, online master's programs, an online degree completion program, and several certificate programs, and supports the Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship. The Department of Management is housed in the AACSB accredited College of Business and serves approximately 600 majors and 140 minors. Management is the largest major in the College of Business and is in the top four in student enrollments at the University. Diverse students from all over the world seek out the Management program.
