JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY
The Assistant Director, Talent Acquisition is responsible for recruiting and managing talent projects aligned with WPI's strategy to attract and hire top talent. This role drives initiatives aimed at attracting diverse talent, ensuring a seamless recruitment process, and enhancing the candidate experience. This will include optimization of Workday, talent acquisition tools and metrics to ensure delivery of positive recruitment and candidate onboarding experiences. The Assistant Director, Talent Acquisition will work closely with HR liaisons and hiring managers supporting key recruitment and talent acquisition projects across the university and reports to the Senior Director, Talent Strategies.

JOB DESCRIPTION
Manage the full recruitment lifecycle:
- Oversee the entire recruitment process from job posting to offer negotiation to hire.
- Collaborate with hiring managers to identify, engage and hire talent that aligns with university goals.
- Act as a talent advisor providing market intelligence, industry trends, and insights into talent pipelines, acting as a strategic adviser to the business.
- Develop sourcing strategies to attract diverse candidates from multiple channels.
- Collaborate and consult with hiring managers to ensure the effective sourcing and retention of talent, as well as positive candidate experience throughout the recruiting process.
Provide talent acquisition leadership and support on best recruitment practices to the community:
- Develop recommended practices and policies for hiring managers and the talent acquisition team.
- Keep abreast of talent acquisition trends and best practices through leadership or professional development opportunities and professional networks.
- Identify and implement new opportunities and programs to improve new employee on-boarding experience.
- Educate and advise hiring managers of recruiting policies and guidelines.
- Conduct regular follow-up with managers to determine the effectiveness of recruiting plans and implementation.
- Organize and attend job fairs, campus events, and other networking opportunities.
- Connect with local community to form partnerships in supporting recruitment efforts.
Develop and lead projects and improvement initiatives within Workday:
- Collaborate with the Talent Acquisition team on improving processes and workflows and offer creative ideas for new talent acquisition development.
Provide talent acquisition metrics and goals to optimize performance and operational excellence:
- Establish and maintain Talent Acquisition metrics for non-academic departments, providing analysis of results with a goal of moving performance to best practice levels and operational excellence.
- Collaborate closely with the Senior Director, Talent Strategies to align project objectives with institutional goals, providing regular updates and ensuring deliverables are met on time and within scope.
Monitor and ensure compliance with employment laws:
- Ensure recruitment and selection processes are in accordance with state and federal guidelines and supportive of overall diversity initiatives.
Collaborate with Talent/Learning Development and other key functional areas to develop and provide recruitment related training to support the success of hiring managers:
- Partner with Talent Development and Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging to develop inclusive recruitment training for faculty and staff.
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in human resources, Business Administration, or a related field; equivalent experience accepted.
- Minimum of 6-8 years of experience in recruitment or talent acquisition.
- Knowledge and familiarity with relevant legislation governing recruitment.
- Experience recruiting for all levels of positions including senior leadership roles.
- Demonstrable experience managing recruiting process and employer branding initiatives.
- Excellent people skills and approachability, proactively accessible and responsive to candidates and managers.
- Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple initiatives and prioritize effectively.
- Preferred experience with Workday
- Demonstrated success in utilizing social media tools and resources is preferred.
- Human Resources Certification (SHRM Certified Profession (SHRM-CP) or Senior Certified Professional (SHRM- SCP) credential preferred.
- Experience analyzing and compiling data.
Salary: $71,800 - $89,800. WPI's benefits package includes a robust retirement match, wellness perks, tuition assistance and more!
