Job Title: HR Payroll Specialist (Intermediate - Senior Level)

Job Summary:
The Department of Psychiatry has an opening for a full-time University Staff (unclassified) HR Payroll Specialist position. The HR Payroll Specialist will be the main point of contact for payroll/funding, employee leave/Family Medical Leave, and HCM Transactions. In addition to these main duties, this position will work closely with the Finance Specialist and Division Administrators, HR Manager and HR Coordinator to assist in fiscal management and ensure data integrity, as well as managing the funding distribution, and other payroll data entry tasks.
Key Responsibilities:
- First point of contact for Department of Psychiatry payroll questions, issues, and verifications.
- Independently processes all aspects of biweekly and monthly payroll for the department.
- Assist central leave office to process Family Medical Leave (FML), FAMLI, Paid Parental Leave (PPL) paperwork and system tracking in coordination with our central leave office.
- Responsible for all aspects of entering salary/FTE changes, funding entry changes, PETs, additional pay, and uploading time into HCM.
- Work closely with HR Coordinator on HCM job transactions.
- Responsible for HR and payroll entries across all divisions for the department.
Work Location:
Hybrid - this role is eligible for a hybrid schedule of 1-3 days per week on campus and as needed for in-person meetings.

Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications:
Intermediate Level:
- A bachelor's degree in public administration, public policy, business, higher education administration, social sciences, behavioral sciences, or a directly related field from an accredited institution.
- A combination of education and related technical/paraprofessional experience may be substituted for the bachelor's degree on a year for year basis.
- One (1) year of professional level general HR experience.
Senior Level:
- A bachelor's degree in public administration, public policy, business, higher education administration, social sciences, behavioral sciences, or a directly related field from an accredited institution.
- A combination of education and related technical/paraprofessional experience may be substituted for the bachelor's degree on a year for year basis.
- Two (2) years of professional level general HR experience.
Applicants must meet minimum qualifications at the time of hire.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master's degree in a field related to HR.
- Experience with FMLA/FAMLI Leave.
- Experience with CU Systems including PeopleSoft HCM, Finance and Contracting Systems.
- Administrative support experience in higher education, a medical school, or in a health sciences setting.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Ability to analyze, interpret, and evaluate a broad range of laws, rules, and regulations in order to exercise good judgment in applying them to human resource challenges.

Anticipated Pay Range:
The starting salary range (or hiring range) for this position has been established as:
Intermediate Level: $47,516 - $60,440
Senior Level: $51,368 - $65,340
The above salary range (or hiring range) represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. This position may be eligible for overtime compensation, depending on the level.
